This is absolute bollocks created by Sky and the Bournemouth/Eddie Howe media love in though.... Yes.. they have a small ground. But they also have a hefty ground sponsorship, the perfect location for a wealthy footballer (sea, mansions, easy links to london).... oh and they've spent an absolute fortune on transfer and wages since coming up.. but no one likes to talk about that. Oh and they have both wealthy Russian and American investment (they also have a minority stake in Roma for context...and they're about to invest in St Etiene) It doesn't fit the media narritive... but little old Bournemouth aren't so little. They'll be spending a lot more in the summer now they've realised they've been too loyal to those that have kept them in the league (the likes of Daniels and Steve Cook who are starting to show signs of Premier League fatigue) 14 minutes ago, MPH said: guaranteed first team football i’d guess? Be a struggle for Solanke to break past Wilson and King... I reckon Wilson is on his way this month if not then 100% the summer.

coolhandfox Posted 4 January 2019 Posted 4 January 2019 Solanke not for me at that price, and I don't she how Clyne on loan would have been worth it.

I'd agree if we've given up on Nacho and have an out for him, Solanke impressed at youth level and had a knack of scoring goals but he's not impacted at a senior level yet, he might be good or he might be really average Hard to believe Iheanacho factors into our long-term plans to the extent we would worry about impeding his development with competition. Especially competition that can actually help us score goals. We need a back-up striker for Vards who can actually step in and help ASAP.
Nalis Posted 4 January 2019 Posted 4 January 2019 Solanke seems overpriced to me. No way we would have got Clyne on loan just to sit him on the bench.
Fox92 Posted 4 January 2019 Posted 4 January 2019 Clyne no better than what we have. Solanke overpriced. £19m for a player who hasn't really scored at this level consistently?

Poznan34 Posted 4 January 2019 Posted 4 January 2019 Solanke bangs them for youth teams, already got an Eng cap. He could be quality and if he flops they would be able to shift him for £10m+ So, small ish risk with massive potential. Wonder if we were interested at all.

They have Russian owners, yeah. They've been spending for ages, even Wilson cost them £3m and that was way back.

majaco Posted 4 January 2019 Posted 4 January 2019 Bournemouth have previous in taking Liverpool rejects: Ibe, Brad Smith. We should jump on the bandwagon and offer them Slimani for 39 million and Benalouane for 18 million.

Stones and Glass Houses, Pots and Black Kettles. Let's be honest, we have been had over much worse than this since winning the EPL.

Spent more than plenty of teams doing much better than them. Have they? Which ones have spent less that are doing better? Watford, maybe. Wolves, yes. They are both 2 points ahead of Bournemouth however. Not exactly "much better" are they?
st albans fox Posted 5 January 2019 Posted 5 January 2019 Can we lock this? It was only slightly relevant in that we had been linked with Clyne .......
