Is this what you want our manager to be like?

I want him to be anything like Nigel Pearson.

He knew when to put an arm around the players and when to tell them they were wrong.

Whatever Puel said at half time yesterday definitely had an effect. Considering half the players are supposed to be against him he still managed to get a good fightback out of the team

Doesn't  seem to do alot before a game tho does he. Record  of letting the first goal in early is as disgrace. They never come out fired up.

Thats true and frustrating as hell

Geoff reported that someone from the camp has said the players are blaming it on training regime somehow, which annoys the hell out of me- all season we have had these slow starts, Puel obviously takes issue with the slow starts, but the players seem unable to cut them out and are blaming something unrelated.  Its not like they dont have the legs, its a mental thing

If i was on the pitch and that same shit kept happening i would think me and my team mates would speak and say to each other 'lets fuchin come charging out of the blocks'

Does not sit well with me if players dont take responsibily for that. They are on the pitch, its up to them how intensely they apply themselves at the start of matches

Interesting post match interview with Sarri yesterday saying that his group of players at Chelsea are "extremely difficult to motivate". He made it very clear how angry he was with them and even insisted on conducting the interview in Italian so he used the right words and nothing could be taken out of context. It will be interesting to see what reaction he gets in their next game but I believe Puel has a similar challenge with our squad and maybe needs to read the riot act to them more than he has been doing.

But none of us know what Puel is like in the dressing room. Didn't look happy and I bet one or two got ripped into yesterday.

Puel never blasts his players to the press even though he's had a lot of cause to recently

Maybe that's what they need, not individuals but the team as a whole - could backfire though if he has already lost the dressing room

Exactly, he's probably roasted them, but came out exactly the same and defended his players to the media

Like I said in the match thread, it was about time he told the players off.

Sadly, it could well be too little, too late.

He comes across as reactionary, and not as proactive. Hence us handing over the ball to the opposition so often at the start of matches. We're happy to conceding possession and then only play well when we have some catching up to do. I don't fancy that. Who does?

Vards and stowell were having a chat leaving the pitch ..... would love to know what they were saying to each other ......just had a feeling it would be ‘revealing’ judging by the body language .....

I don't want a manager like this and to be honest Puel seems animated on the touchline so I wouldn't be surprised if he is like this (not to Warnocks level) in the dressing room.

There is no doubt that there was a good reaction in the second half yesterday so something he did must have worked.

I think it's his man management which needs to improve. He seems so distant with the players. Look at Pearson and Ranieri - they would put an arm around a player if it was needed but also have a go at them. I don't think Puel has that ability to work out personalities and what fires them up - which is a shame as I think tactically he is decent. Maybe if we were to bring in a good character as a coach/assistant who would engage with him and the players more could help the relationship.

True but then on the flipside, if this were the case then he'd have nothing to lose by coming out and saying it as it is. Fair play to Sarri for speaking out. He's right, for top level players to struggle for motivation is a ****ing disgrace.

Vards: "Can I dress up as Batman next week?"

Stowell: "OK. And I'll dress up as Robin."

It’s possible ........ my intuitive side says it was to do with the manager and how mad he was with what had happened (and who he was blaming). Vards wasn’t animated as might be expected after that ending ......

I bet Puel went all kinds of ape 5hit when he got them in the dressing yesterday don’t be fooled by his quite demeanour

Puel was incredibly animated for Barnes's goal. I remember his excuberant celebration for the Ndidi to Albrighton goal.

I respect the fans who doubt Puel's tactics... but the fans who criticise him for not acting how they want?

Have you all considered taking up professional dog training?
