Nalis Posted 3 February 2019 Posted 3 February 2019 Pearson in... the departure lounge at Brussels airport.
Analysethis Posted 3 February 2019 Posted 3 February 2019 Pearson was mad to take the job in the first place and is a hell of a better manager than them.

funkyrobot Posted 3 February 2019 Posted 3 February 2019 Poor Nige, one of our best ever managers yet somehow he’s been sacked by our owners 3 times!! I would wear my box fresh ice white no flex in the sole hi tec trainers at half mast if that was possible.

So you are doubting he has football management skills? Without his influence we would have been relegated to the Championship the season before we won the title. He did great for us and dont understand any negativity towards him to be fair. There was no motivation for someone of his skill set to go and manage football on such a low level which was my point.
Lionator Posted 3 February 2019 Posted 3 February 2019 I fear that might be the end of him. I wouldn't be surprised to see him rocking up in the Indian Super League/MLS/A-League!
funkyrobot Posted 3 February 2019 Posted 3 February 2019 Can’t we bring him back as DOF? I can’t bear to think that there’s no more association with the Lone Wolf with his Buzzcut and his Boxfresh Ice White’s.

I don't happen to think he's the best thing since sliced bread, and his own record confirms it unfortunately. He needs a job in the Championship but he likely won't even get that now. He's a good motivator, I'll give him that, but he;s been absolutely shocking at OHL, and for a league that's presumably so below him, he's shot himself right in the foot.
lgfualol Posted 3 February 2019 Posted 3 February 2019 He's massively fvcked up everything at Leuven and the owners wont be excited about having a club playing in an amateur league. Sad times.

As football management appointments go, Pearson going to them was weird on so many levels. I cant remember the last time one of these weird style appointments went right from Harry Redknapp managing Jordan or Avraam Grant to Chelsea.Weird stuff happens which makes little sense at times. However, Pearson has achieved plenty domestically and deserves more respect from fans like you for what he has done for us. I find your comments highly disrespectful and in truth a bit clueless. He did great things with us and without him and his team we wouldnt be the club we are today, not by a long shot.
Foxhead Posted 3 February 2019 Posted 3 February 2019 Very sad. A Leicester legend and I would normally be first to big him up. Unfortunately though, I think that the Pearson, shakey, Walsh team was a one off combo. None of them have worked on their own. Time to let go.

Unfortunately though some of what you say is true his record since he left us and since he split with Shakespeare and Walsh has hardly been a success. This latest stint in Belgium has clearly gone badly wrong.
DerbyshireFox Posted 3 February 2019 Posted 3 February 2019 I loved Nige when he was here in both his spells, but we have moved on to other things and so has he. We cannot keep harking back to the past to influence the future, that’s half the problem at the moment
David Hankey Posted 3 February 2019 Posted 3 February 2019 Pearson's gone and not before time by all accounts. And no we don't want back here!! He's past his sell by date I'm afraid
splinterdream Posted 3 February 2019 Posted 3 February 2019 Has Pearson done well with any other team except for us?

Yeah but the whole thing over in Belgium is a bit of a stitch up. 3 Leicester loan players, a Thai GK, George Hirst fiasco etc. Its all strange. However, if we look what he did for us then we can be nothing but thankful.

IMO he is a solid manager and i`ll be forever grateful for what he did at our club. Anyone who doubts his influence on our standing as a club today must be delusional.
Wymsey Posted 3 February 2019 Posted 3 February 2019 It does show that Pearson can't be successful just by himself.
