urban.spaceman Posted 11 March 2019 Posted 11 March 2019 Brace yourself, a SportsWitness article about us maybe signing a Sporting CP player.... Leicester City make contact to sign 19 year old midfielder, free agent in the summer Lucas Sposito11th March 2019 By Clever Advertising Leicester City have reportedly made the first contacts for the signing of Nuno Moreira from Portuguese side Sporting. It’s newspaper Record who reports it this Monday, claiming the Foxes are interested in signing the midfielder as a free agent in the summer. But as you can see in the image attached below, Leicester City are not alone in the race. They face the competition from Celta Vigo, Genoa and especially West Ham. The Hammers are said to be the club who are the ‘closest’ on signing the player, as they seem to have gone a little bit further than the other clubs in the race, but Leicester aren’t ruled out. Nuno Moreira is still in Sporting’s academy, and his lack of chances in the first team would be one of the reasons for him to leave. Sporting want to keep him, but face obstacles. Leicester City may have to put in a better financial offer than their Premier League rival.
foxy boxing Posted 11 March 2019 Posted 11 March 2019 I Nuno about this one! we've been burnt by Sporting too often!
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 11 March 2019 Posted 11 March 2019 £0 is too much for a player from Sporting.
moore_94 Posted 11 March 2019 Posted 11 March 2019 Lets hope he doesn't get in touch with Silva and Slimani to find out how the club treated them...
SheppyFox Posted 11 March 2019 Posted 11 March 2019 Cool name. Sign him up. Saying no more sporting players is a ludicrous thing to say

Nicolo Barella Posted 11 March 2019 Posted 11 March 2019 If he can't break into their first team he might not be for us.
surrifox Posted 11 March 2019 Posted 11 March 2019 West Ham are in - unless Everton are too he can f*** off
Stadt Posted 12 March 2019 Posted 12 March 2019 Because we were stupid we shouldn't sign players from Sporting? Bruno Fernandes will get a big move this summer because he's class.
Finnegan Posted 12 March 2019 Posted 12 March 2019 Sporting have one of Europe's best academies and Portugal is Europe's best gateway for talent moving to the big leagues. You'd have to be an idiot to not want us to scout and recruit from Portugal. We might have gotten it wrong so far but that's on us.

Porto and Benfica are by far the bigger and better clubs. We signed one Porto player and within a few weeks he was our best player. We sign 2 Sporting and I'm still taking gaviscon.

Not one of which would go to Leicester. They're also mostly old players. Their academy is a bit of a shambles at the moment.

Plus a lot of their talent is bought right away, so you wouldn't know they were Sporting graduates.
