coalvillefox Posted 30 July 2019 Posted 30 July 2019 The longer this goes on the less likely we are to sell as the likes of Brighton and Burnley will be slowly increasing the price of potential replacements for exactly the same reason as we increase our price as the window closing draws closer. It's like buying a house and being in a chain, Utd are currently renting and can move out whenever they want to and have cash to burn, Leicester are in a chain with Burnley/Brighton and they are likely also looking at other properties if they loose have to sell their prime real estate.

I think they think theyll either agree the fee and it'll be heavily incentivised, or they'll pay more up front and get it agreed. I'm pretty sure we're not up for that, however Maguire's agent is pushing very very hard and Maguire is indeed quite keen, he'll virtually triple his wages. I think it'll get done. I also dont think Tarkowski or Dunk will be the replacement. what Money would you put on him singing a new contract and going to Man City at the end of the season?

Hes still relatively young with potentially his best years ahead of him, the interest wont go away and a good half of a season will only increase the interest and he gets his move in January. In the mean time he enjoys playing good football in a team he enjoys playing in and playing amongst friends. Its win win for him whichever way it goes so quite rightly he can been keen but still very happy indeed with the current situation.
MPH Posted 30 July 2019 Posted 30 July 2019 once he goes to Man United, it will be very very tricky for him to go to Man City...

Harry's agent is looking for the Crystal. He's running out of time and may get locked in if he doesn't hurry up. That will reduce his golden tickets for now, but there is always the Christmas special and time for him to practice his approach.

Must say I was pretty disappointed when you didn’t correct Saunders when he said we’d be getting £65m profit. We wouldn’t for a start he cost £17m not £15m and he failed to acknowledge the sell on clause and cost of replacement. General consensus says £80m is a lot but broke down it doesn’t leave us with much and barely adds up.

LinekersApples Posted 30 July 2019 Posted 30 July 2019 80m (although i think its higher) - 17m = 63m 63m - 15% of 80m = 51m 51m = quite a lot of money. In LCFC football terms its a Tielemans and 2 Jonny Evans'

Well I certainly hope the Brighton and Burnley chains behind us break and sink to the deepest part of the Atlantic Ocean. Losing Harry and replacing him with either of these two options is akin to losing your model wife and having to marry her ugly Gran.

If this is the case then his agent needs to have it reinforced in no uncertain terms that we will not take any form of incentivisation, we want all the fee up front, that we are not holding Harry back but Man Utd are by their refusal to pay the asking price. if/when a fee is agreed it should be made clear to the agent that we will under no circumstances pay any agent fee to him and all of that and player bonus must be paid by Man Utd. Man Utd are a very very rich club and under no circumstances should we accept any form of incentivisation with this deal. Their arrogance at having plans for his unveiling would typify such a club and is reminiscent of the Labour Party rally in Sheffield.

It's just annoying it's got the potential to happen this late in the window, this should have been done and dusted weeks ago or we should have set an earlier deadline. Looking at it from the outside though, is Harry that great a player? He's good, but is he world class or worth 80m? No.

That makes no sense. We take in £80m, thenwe have to pay 15% of the profit only to Hull. Assuming the sale is 80m, then its: 80m - 17m = 63m profit. (The £17m is ours to keep) 15% of 63m = 9.45m sell-on fee to Hull 80m - 9.45m = 70.55m into Leicester's coffers.

We’re showing our strength and serious ambition by refusing to bow down and accept a lower fee. Just for that reason I hope we point blank refuse to do a deal now even if they offer double what we wanted. I think they’ll meet our valuation in the next week. We’ve stood our ground and will get a good enough fee... it’s whether we want to / have enough time to replace him.
