Sometimes you've just got to doff your cap to the opposition and give them credit for the perfect away performance.

We were doggo but fair play to Rafa and the Geordies. They did a job on us tonight.

The only positive was that the Geordie keeper managed to use his free time during the game to knit a rather snazzy cardigan. And it only took 1 hour 25 minutes .

Our lot turned up expecting to be able to play their game, own the pitch and when it wasn't going right there was nobody there that could drag us through.

They turned up, worked hard, battled well and sneaked a goal. Fair play

That was as bad as anything we've seen this season and straight out of the Puel textbook of how to play football.  So much aimless possession and sideways passing.  There must have been 50 misplaced passes in that game from us it was shocking.  And the amount of miscontrols etc is just awful.

Yes Newcastle came and did a job on us, but playing like that tonight, any premiership side would have turned us over comfortably.

They looked on the beach to be fair.

There was nothing perfect about their performance.

We failed to take advantage of our superiority, then started giving the ball away and not marking, went one down and were incapable of scoring.

Do you think that wolves or Watford would have lost at home to that lot?

Mind you, I couldn't be more glad that we didn't go for Rafa

I honestly felt that once the Geordies had scored there was no chance of City scoring. Hands up all those who remember their goalie having a serious shot to save.

Just now, Preston Fox said:

Are the players allergic to getting the ball out wide? And no urgency to get the ball forward when there was 2 minutes to go. Cr@p

So maybe it is the players, not the managers

Very clear why tonight happened

Benitez 1 Rogers 0

Tactical masterclass from Rafa

they did what they wanted and we didn’t do anything about it, really.

mustve been one of vardy’s worst ever performances for us? i’m not sure he did literally anything right. barely controlled a pass all evening and on the rare occasion he did he misplaced his next pass. and missed a pretty easy chance towards the end. woeful.

but realistically our season has been over for about 3 months so it doesn’t really matter. decent learning curve, although it’s pretty tough to see that we can seemingly change whatever we like, but if a team have half an idea of how to defend we continue to be completely fu cked.

Didn’t test their keeper, Gray still hasn’t shown anything promising in the 3 and a half years he’s been with us, we look so much more chaotic with Maguire at the back.
