Izzy Posted 12 April 2019 Posted 12 April 2019 Sometimes you've just got to doff your cap to the opposition and give them credit for the perfect away performance. We were doggo but fair play to Rafa and the Geordies. They did a job on us tonight.
sishades Posted 12 April 2019 Posted 12 April 2019 The only positive was that the Geordie keeper managed to use his free time during the game to knit a rather snazzy cardigan. And it only took 1 hour 25 minutes .
EastAnglianFox Posted 12 April 2019 Posted 12 April 2019 Not his biggest fan but that was a Rafa masterclass, fair play to Newcastle they deserved that
Sunbury Fox Posted 12 April 2019 Posted 12 April 2019 Newcastle did what they do, suffocate the game. It's terrible to watch but if they score first it becomes very hard to get a result.
Nicolo Barella Posted 12 April 2019 Author Posted 12 April 2019 In all seriousness, we showed some intent after '60 so it wasn't a total write off. My only complaint is that Soyuncu didn't start over one of those two tractors.
Guest Kopfkino Posted 12 April 2019 Posted 12 April 2019 Our lot turned up expecting to be able to play their game, own the pitch and when it wasn't going right there was nobody there that could drag us through. They turned up, worked hard, battled well and sneaked a goal. Fair play
Preston Fox Posted 12 April 2019 Posted 12 April 2019 Are the players allergic to getting the ball out wide? And no urgency to get the ball forward when there was 2 minutes to go. Cr@p
Guest kristianity77 Posted 12 April 2019 Posted 12 April 2019 That was as bad as anything we've seen this season and straight out of the Puel textbook of how to play football. So much aimless possession and sideways passing. There must have been 50 misplaced passes in that game from us it was shocking. And the amount of miscontrols etc is just awful. Yes Newcastle came and did a job on us, but playing like that tonight, any premiership side would have turned us over comfortably. They looked on the beach to be fair.
ealingfox Posted 12 April 2019 Posted 12 April 2019 The manager we could have had. Sit back and take it in.

We failed to take advantage of our superiority, then started giving the ball away and not marking, went one down and were incapable of scoring. Do you think that wolves or Watford would have lost at home to that lot?
Guest Kopfkino Posted 12 April 2019 Posted 12 April 2019 Mind you, I couldn't be more glad that we didn't go for Rafa
sishades Posted 12 April 2019 Posted 12 April 2019 I honestly felt that once the Geordies had scored there was no chance of City scoring. Hands up all those who remember their goalie having a serious shot to save.

SouthStandUpperTier Posted 12 April 2019 Posted 12 April 2019 Can we stop with this Newcastle gave the 'perfect away performance'? They were shit. Trouble was we were even shitter.
Ted Maul Posted 12 April 2019 Posted 12 April 2019 Very strong contender for worst performance of the season, that.
Guest Col city fan Posted 12 April 2019 Posted 12 April 2019 Very clear why tonight happened Benitez 1 Rogers 0 Tactical masterclass from Rafa
ScouseFox Posted 12 April 2019 Posted 12 April 2019 they did what they wanted and we didn’t do anything about it, really. mustve been one of vardy’s worst ever performances for us? i’m not sure he did literally anything right. barely controlled a pass all evening and on the rare occasion he did he misplaced his next pass. and missed a pretty easy chance towards the end. woeful. but realistically our season has been over for about 3 months so it doesn’t really matter. decent learning curve, although it’s pretty tough to see that we can seemingly change whatever we like, but if a team have half an idea of how to defend we continue to be completely fu cked.
WoodyFox Posted 12 April 2019 Posted 12 April 2019 Didn’t test their keeper, Gray still hasn’t shown anything promising in the 3 and a half years he’s been with us, we look so much more chaotic with Maguire at the back.
Poznan34 Posted 12 April 2019 Posted 12 April 2019 Newcastle did the same last year, come here, park the bus. Boring but effective. Ergh.
