Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 12 April 2019 Posted 12 April 2019 That was pathetic Passing and control of the ball was dogshit. Wayward, poor control, aimless long balls. Gray is embarrassing. Maddison and Vardy were shit too. Newcastle were a poor side and I can't remember their keeper doing anything in second half. That was worse than some of Puel matches frankly and that's saying something

knitro Posted 12 April 2019 Posted 12 April 2019 This is the same sort of listless performance which drove lots of you to DIG into Puel.. so let's hear it..
Spudulike Posted 12 April 2019 Posted 12 April 2019 Jeez, we've watched some crap this season, Cardiff, Southampton, Palace and tonight it was amongst the worse. Sick to death of seeing away fans celebrating. Weekend ruined again, thanks lads.

The one thing they did that was good was put pressure on Ndidi who cannot control a ball and pass quickly, it wouldn't have been so bad if Evans had been behind him helping out but there was Morgan who also can't control a ball and pass quickly. One of Tielemans or Maddison needs to go back alongside him and take the ball or we need to replace Wilf. He's a tackler and destroyer but he's not a quick thinker or ball player. I'm happy with Wilf but not with Morgs and not without passing help, though I think we should try Hamza as the dcm. He's intelligent and can pass.
justfoxes Posted 12 April 2019 Posted 12 April 2019 We failed to take our chances over thought how we were playing Brendan needs to realise unfortunately Big Wes can be a liability, thought it was a team catastrophe tonight we had most possession first half but failed to make the most of Wes allied Perez to come in on his blind side was caught ball watching Ndidi had a mare at times his passing and ball play was dreadful at times !! Thought Kasper kept the score line low but made a few howler crosses definitely need a squad rebuild in the summer keep Benkovic here play him as the lad does look quality, Barnes looked dejected when he was subbed Gray over plays the ball at times shows too many step overs we can go on But Brendan sort us out !!

Jaspa Posted 12 April 2019 Posted 12 April 2019 Kept trying the same things all game, we didn't produce when it mattered. Newcastle were solid and turned in a typical scrappy, time-wastey game but they were very hard to pick apart, very hard to get the second ball off of and very hard to find space against, they nullified our Maddison & Tielemans combo play, making Ndidi look back to his Puel form and was very scrappy in possession. The goal came from a simple situation, ball came back on the wing and Ayoze Perez more alive in the box than Wes and a good header over a seemingly 5'2" Kasper. Their touch was right, their pressure was right and they deserved the win; that's them on a good night. Ref wasn't good, facilitated alot of time wasting even in the first half, missed a couple of yellows against them for stopping counters beyond the first phase. We never seem to get results with him. Ricardo MotM. Not a whole lot else positive, Wes handled Rondon well who was a real handful. Thought Chilly was wasteful, never seemed to get the right weight of pass to Barnes especially in the first half. Vardy had a chance or two, Maddison was stifled and booted a couple of times for measure. We'd have done very well to win that. You'd hope we come up with some better ideas against tactically & physically solid teams who are well drilled and determined next time.
HoustonFox Posted 12 April 2019 Posted 12 April 2019 At least Tielemans was crap tonight, means we have more chance of signing him again... every cloud and all that. Marc is back too... um, that’s all...
Burgh foxes 01 Posted 12 April 2019 Posted 12 April 2019 Good ,Rodgers can see what hes got for next season, keep the faith ,now our 100 Mile trip back .
sishades Posted 12 April 2019 Posted 12 April 2019 After that performance they deserve this than palm trees...
Farrington fox Posted 12 April 2019 Posted 12 April 2019 You can’t win em all and at the end of the day does tonight really matter. Well to those who want 7th it will. But Personally l don’t want to be playing unknown teams in July. Look how it affected Burnley. If BR gets things right this Summer we could have a hell of a season next.

Wut? Apart from one save from Perez he had little to do.
fuchsntf Posted 12 April 2019 Posted 12 April 2019 Tonight..we didn't play our wide players in side positions,we didn't go down the flanks of put pressure on getting around the back.... Simply we were still too narrow.... However this is good all round....We should stop going OT T with this teams potential!!! Rodgers, now should see he still needs more quality, Tielemans /Maddison etc are not the end of the quality we need.... Rodgers will still have some big decisions to make...Some is tactical...Gray-Ricardo...Chilwell-Barnes,we're taking each other's space, they didn't change Too much in the 2nd half....Nobody took charge, and had us pushing that bye-line.....There were other faults, but these are things I expect Rodgers and coaching staff to look at!!! We are wasting our widemen and moments...
MC Prussian Posted 12 April 2019 Posted 12 April 2019 Yes, Newcastle were set up nicely and nullified a lot of our attacking impetus. But what our players delivered in the first half and how Rodgers reacted at half-time, well... Let's just say it didn't really make a difference. Morgan's positioning and reaction for their goal... Pfft. Lots of sweaty moments with him before the referee sent both teams into the tunnel for the first time. Shame about the result, could've put some distance between us and Wolves, for instance. Which can only mean we'll win away at West Ham on Easter Sunday. Just don't play on a Friday evening any longer. Just... pathetic.
LestaAl Posted 12 April 2019 Posted 12 April 2019 Four wins on the trot..there is light at the day of the tunnel Home loss to Newcastle.. .. or is that a train coming our way!
UniFox21 Posted 12 April 2019 Posted 12 April 2019 One of the worst performances I've seen from Chilwell today. Every pass was a few yards behind or just to the wrong team. Seems unable to pass to Barnes 90% of the time. Gray was absent for a lot of it, some great footwork at times, but little else. Morgan and Maguire just don't work well together.
Sunbury Fox Posted 12 April 2019 Posted 12 April 2019 It is easy to be critical of the players but it is so hard to get any flowing football going against a team playing that defensively. Every Newcastle game that I've seen this season has been dull and frustrating. I make that our 11th defeat in 13 league games on TV this season, by the way.
KingKoala Posted 12 April 2019 Posted 12 April 2019 These are the ones we struggle to create anything and we lack height in front of their goal. Plenty of crosses but nothing threatening.

Trav Le Bleu Posted 12 April 2019 Posted 12 April 2019 Puelesque. Every criticism you could level at a Puel defeat, you could level at our team tonight.
kingfox Posted 12 April 2019 Posted 12 April 2019 Shit performance. You knew exactly what Newcastle were going to do, sit back, be organised and frustrate the fvck out of us. Tonight was a tactical masterclass from Rafa Benitez. So many bad performers from our side tonight, Chilwell and Ndidi especially were dreadful. 7th probably gone now
