foxile5 Posted 8 May 2019 Posted 8 May 2019 Great back up. Don't think that we could get anyone else in that would come and willingly play second fiddle to Chilwell.
moore_94 Posted 8 May 2019 Posted 8 May 2019 That has probably saved us having to splash out £5-10million on another player to replace him
lcfcbluearmy Posted 8 May 2019 Posted 8 May 2019 Brilliant news good solid backup and I get the feeling he is a great person to have around the dressing room aswell
Stevosevic Posted 8 May 2019 Posted 8 May 2019 Sensible move. One less position to worry about this summer
FoxinNotts Posted 8 May 2019 Posted 8 May 2019 Top man, one of the legends, and a good squad member to have
ren Posted 8 May 2019 Posted 8 May 2019 Good business that, as well as a good man to have in the dressing room.
Xen Posted 8 May 2019 Posted 8 May 2019 Great stuff. Gives us a bit more time to develop (or send on loan) the likes of Ughelumba/Thomas, and saves us from having to spend in the transfer market. Probably works out quite well for him as well - he knows he's not likely to play very often, so the club can afford to give him more time off to visit his family in NY/work on his academy between (some) fixtures. Always good to have an experienced head around too, particularly one of the league-winners.
Nick Posted 8 May 2019 Posted 8 May 2019 I’m fine with this. Can play the cups and back up in case of injury plus a well liked experienced and positive character to have in the dressing room and around a young squad. BR clearly rates him enough for him to fill a void that means we can spend where we need to.
Tuna Posted 8 May 2019 Posted 8 May 2019 Really, really pleased with this. Shrewd and sensible piece of business, his experience and character will be a massive asset to us on and off the pitch.

Babylon Posted 8 May 2019 Posted 8 May 2019 When was the last time we went into a season thinking we only needed about 3 players (Edit to say, losing Mendy and having a more all round player available would be preferable also)
stix Posted 8 May 2019 Posted 8 May 2019 Ready to take up his position when Chilwell signs for Man City in the summer.
indierich06 Posted 8 May 2019 Posted 8 May 2019 Consummate pro, great to have around the place, and solid backup to Chilwell - is there any downside to this?
dnewty Posted 8 May 2019 Posted 8 May 2019 Great news he's a fantastic role model for the young players, and on his day still a good player.
Guest bss9401 Posted 8 May 2019 Posted 8 May 2019 Great news for us but I bet that was one uncomfortable phone call to the missus.
UPinCarolina Posted 8 May 2019 Posted 8 May 2019 Ideally this was an inexpensive way of maintaining a (title winning XI legend) backup with a strong dressing room presence.
