RonnieTodger Posted 8 May 2019 Posted 8 May 2019 Delighted for him, but I'm starting to think his family in America is pure Tracy Beaker style fiction.

SuperMike Posted 8 May 2019 Posted 8 May 2019 Needs to teach one of the youngsters how to take those throw ins!!

I somewhat doubt he's gone and signed a contract then rang his missus up and gone "oh btw love" I imagine he's discussed his future with her at length. I know his plan was going to play in the MLS but it's not really as simple as just leaving Leicester and walking straight into the MLS club of choosing. He's been allowed to talk to foreign clubs for months Anyway on topic will be 33 for the majority of next season so far from over the hill very steady backup/rotation player to have about. Possibly even into 2021 if he legs don't go and he wants another year.

I imagine there isn't much interest in him as one of those players so another year here picking up 50k a week is a no brainer.
Gerard Posted 8 May 2019 Posted 8 May 2019 Happy either way to be honest. With Luke Thomas and Calvin Ughelumba well thought of in the academy the ideal situation would be for Fuchs to hold the fort as Chilwell's understudy for one more year and one of these lads stepping up next season. In an ideal situation you don't want to be spending good money on a player who is just coming to be cover.

st albans fox Posted 8 May 2019 Posted 8 May 2019 Worryingly, Sean’s alter ego, mr cockshaw tweeted this an hour or so before the club .....

Spudulike Posted 8 May 2019 Posted 8 May 2019 That's all very well but who's ears will he be flicking when Shinji's gone
Countryfox Posted 8 May 2019 Posted 8 May 2019 Well, looks like Pep told Chilwell on Monday night he’s coming in for him in the summer.

StanSP Posted 8 May 2019 Posted 8 May 2019 Wasn't expecting this. Perhaps his NY plans didn't work out or he's delaying it til next year. Perhaps Brendan's given him some assurances he'll feature in cup games? Or is looking to go in to coaching/doing some courses here with us?

Raw Dykes Posted 8 May 2019 Posted 8 May 2019 This is a nice surprise. Couldn't ask for better realistic LB backup. Seems a great guy to have around the dressing room, as well. Great bit of business.
Jonezy Posted 8 May 2019 Posted 8 May 2019 Good stuff. He looked rusty at Newport, but completely nullified Mahrez in the league cup. Great character and solid back up.
lgfualol Posted 8 May 2019 Posted 8 May 2019 Fine as long as chilwell stays fit and at Leicester. Probably good to keep him as an experience pro even if he doesnt play, as we will lose a few this Summer.

LestaAl Posted 8 May 2019 Posted 8 May 2019 Looking forward to seeing the occasional long throw-in next season.
