Preston seemed to be close for about 5 years, reached several play-offs and a couple of finals but never quite made it. A new name is welcome.

Not Forest, though..

Can't really see it happening now tbh, but it'd great to see a club like Brentford get promotion.

Also would be good if Sheffield Wednesday get a good chance of going up come March time and manage to do it. Two city derbies in the same top-flight season (along with Everton* and Liverpool).

*Also providing that Everton don't get relegated..

Stoke are going down that was some of the worst defending I’ve ever seen

How are Stoke in the situation they are? They have some great players, players who didn't look out of place in the prem. Yet they're awful this year?

They probably should be doing better than they are but saying they have some great players is stretching it a little. Joe Allen was half decent about eight years ago.

Just looking at their squad and you can tell there's been no real plan regarding transfers over the past few years, it's bloated with dross.

Stoke look like us circa 2006, not long out of the Premier League struggling in the Championship in front of swathes of empty seats.

This just shows that having a billionaire owner doesn't guarantee sustained success for a football club.

Think Coates/Bet365 have made profit out of the club for their own gains, than actually enhance various aspects of the club during his tenure there.

Similar to us under Sven, just random collection of players who have decent talent but have 0 team work

Michael O'Neill is set to become the new Stoke manager.

That'll be interesting.

His £750k wages at Northern Ireland will reportedly be doubled there.., and is set to manage them on Saturday at Barnsley.

I'm genuinely baffled. They've got a chance of getting to the Euros! And he's choosing a relegation battle to league one lol

As if Chris Coleman leaving Wales to go to Sunderland couldn't be topped...

Not only have you missed out Manchester, as pointed out, but what about all the London games lol

Immediate impact for Michael O'Neill at Stoke, still don't think that's a great appointment for them (reeks of Coleman / Sunderland) but we'll see.

Think the Stoke hierarchy understand now, given their plight, that they need to start from scratch again.

Reckon they'll give O'Neill good time to form better foundations and possibly success upwards.

Thought, at the time when they were steady in the Premier League, that they would actually stay there for a good while - so it just illustrates how poor ownership and club organisation/recruitment etc can affect how the club is doing on the pitch.
