That's three poor games with Castagne at LB. I want Justin and Barnes on the left again, can't believe after all the success they had on that side together last season we seem determained to avoid it now.

When Barnes is bad... He's really bad.

I feel like there is no middle ground with him. I guess that can be said for most average wingers though. Performance level is so volatile.

Quite a lot of fans think he should be in the England squad

Give your head a good wobble

He's a long way off a Gareth phone call. If Gareth thinks Madders is flaky. He ain't seen nothing compared to our resident Kevin & Perry on the flank.

It’s ironic that Castagne kept Maduake very very quiet… but not many are saying Maduake was particularly poor. They did the same to Barnes. He was stifled, yes his touch was off but I think he started to force his game when it already wasn’t working against their RB.

One of those days for him, he has a few but we all know he can be electric. That’s the life of a winger outside of the very elite unfortunately.

Madueke literally ran past 4 or 5 of our players and carried the ball 50 yards in the process on multiple occasions. Barnes was incredibly wasteful and looked like he didn't have a clue what to do when he got on the ball 99% of the time. He's not a creative player though, he's at his best when we turn the ball over and break at pace. We did everything at a snails pace tonight and he looked as bad as you'd expect Barnes to look against a packed and deep defence.

Madueke definitely looked the better winger on the night.

What's Castagne got to do with Barnes 1) being unable to beat his man 2) make accurate passes 3) put the ball on target?

First half a few times we broke and he was ambling along like nothing happening. Really annoying player just lately

Looking better, still didnt get it done...

People want to remember where he stumbled, But forget easy the Good moments he had...& over the season, also for other players..

fans want their players to be in that Globe of Perfect science....Footballs & Leicester history shows, of Never can be, no team is so bloody perfect..

Neither the fans egoistic opinions..

It's like the guy has had a brain transplant. His decision making is so so poor. He's become so selfish with the ball and play. Just runs into full backs, offers nothing defensively. Yet BR decides yet again to keep him on the pitch. Lookman deserves a chance on the left. He's far better on the left than on the right. Honestly so so disappointed with Harvey. Few months back there were talks about England and now who knows what's happened? Has it all gone to his head? Just unbelievably frustrating today.

...he came up against someone who could read him and stay with him!!!

He did not know how to handle it and ran out of ideas. Nacho was struggling with his own game and their one two's were not coming off.

He was absolute toss tonight. He needs to take a long hard look at his game, because there a lot of issues to address if he’s to progress on to being a top player. He has the physical attributes, but I question his mentality at times, and his ability to read a game.

Absolutely in his pocket….

Totally agree. The problem with Barnes he doesn’t have a plan B.

Thought all the team played ok tonite, except obviously Barnes and Nacho. They have probably cost us the tie, but at least we are still in it. Going next week with some optimism, but hope Daka starts. Would give Barnes a chance to redeem himself against probably a less defensive formation.

Totally agree but why the hell is Rodgers letting him do this week in week out

Looks like his natural game has been coached out of him, he now seems to have lost the ability to take on a defender and just runs into people hoping for a lucky one two

Lacking confidence at the moment. Just constantly running into trouble.

But he’s a talent and he’ll be back.

He ran in to the right back about 5 times tonight.

He'll come good.

His final ball and general decision making are poor. He is predictable not good enough at the moment.

When against a team playing deep like that he needs to come off his wing and try and get the ball in more central areas which should create space wide for his fullback. Its clear tho he’s been told to sit wide, probably because they don’t rate his ability to play with his back to goal but then he becomes so predictable. The PSV fullback did very little and has almost completely nullified Barnes.

Its a shame because he could be a strong boy, he’s got decent height and quite built but for whatever reason you rarely see the ball player to his feet when a defending is tight on him. Compare that to Lookman who is very good receiving the ball like this.

Barnes needs to get better at this and improve his shooting if he wants to get to the next level.
