Does it matter? The view from inside is very good from everywhere - certainly better than it was in filbo. Now one of the many things that embarass me about city is the near God-like status the owners seem to get from the fans. They're decent owners but they are in it for themselves and not you. They really don't GAF about you nor Leicester City FC and will sell the team when it suits them. Expect pelters for the last point mate.
leicesterseddon Posted 3 June 2019 Posted 3 June 2019 Hard to know where to start with this one but here goes: - the clappers - ‘your city is blue’ - ‘we support our local team’ - the Birch’s pre-match speeches (but not the man himself, obvs) Also controversial but I think we need to change the pre-KO video...it really does depict us as King Power FC.

Only generic songs being sung with gusto. Our fans that moan when the ball goes backward. I was actually thinking about this today. WYS is a great anthem but it's not really an easy song to belt out with gusto. I don't know what it is about the makeup of the song but it's easy enough to sing but hard to belt out. It just seems too flat.

But, as with every club, we have our fair share of things that can be embarrassing. Maybe not on the 'youre getting mauled by the tigers' level, but lets make a 'try to not do this list' Lets stick to one `annoyance' per post. I'll start.... Trying to create a rivalry with Spurs. They dont care about us and the amount of posts about them I see on this forum is just embarrassing, we cant force a rivalry because we had one close season with them! I dont think anyone is trying to create a rivalry. Just a fair few of our fans (me included) cannot stand them. Its not a rivalry i just hate them. Just like i hate Man U and Leeds but i don't see us as having a rivalry with them either.
coolhandfox Posted 3 June 2019 Posted 3 June 2019 General don't get embarrassed by my football club, or anything my fellow fans do. Life to short.

We're well aware of our position in football. It's just they gave our club and us fans the dog's abuse during our title run and it ended in hilarious failure for them. It was only natural for us to indulge in a bit lot of piss taking. Them saying we're trying to make a rivalry with them is just a defense mechanism because they couldn't take our piss taking.

As above, you'll get criticised for that comment but I'll happily agree with you.
Sir Shep Posted 3 June 2019 Posted 3 June 2019 It seems far too many snobby types support our team with the I’m better than you attitude that tends to pop up.

pSinatra Posted 3 June 2019 Posted 3 June 2019 I always thought the above was embarrassing. I was pretty tired of O'Neill holding the club to ransom about his future. But grovelling for him to stay?

Nalis Posted 3 June 2019 Posted 3 June 2019 'Who are ya?' chants after a team scores. Every team does it so its not exclusive to us but its cringe, shite and unoriginal.
knitro Posted 3 June 2019 Posted 3 June 2019 The treatment of Claude Puel from hire to fire. Every narcissistic 'he hasn't connected with ME' type post, as if the primary (or even tertiary) responsibility of the manager is to make the fans feel like it's their mate coaching. 'But his press conferences are so dull!' Gregg Popovich (NBA) and Bill Belichick (NFL) are two of the greatest coaches in their respective sports and offer notoriously stingy and boring interactions with media, because the whole thing so rote with no upside for actual honesty or flair. English wasn't his native language, his fluency was laboured. He was pilloried for this by a sizable percentage and it put into tailspin his entire tenure in my view, from which he could not recover.

Also worth noting he built a good squad, or at least a half-decent one. Whether he was the right man to manage them or not he brought in Evans, Maddison, Ricardo and Tilemens.

boots60 Posted 3 June 2019 Posted 3 June 2019 The tempo at which When you're smiling is sung. A truly great song ruined by breakneck speed singing.
