Wolves Fixture: Sunday Switch To Aid Supporter Planning
Following consultation between the two clubs and the Premier League, a joint decision has been taken to move Leicester City’s season-opener against Wolverhampton Wanderers to Sunday 11 August (kick-off 2pm BST).
 King Power Stadium
- Leicester City’s Premier League opener against Wolves moved to Sunday 11 August
- Fixture date had been pending Wolves’ UEFA Europa League progress
- Pre-emptive decision to confirm Sunday taken by both clubs to give certainty to supporters

Originally scheduled to take place on Saturday 10 August, the fixture at King Power Stadium remained subject to change, pending Wolves’ potential involvement in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League the preceding Thursday (8 August).

However, as Wolves’ potential progress in the competition will not be determined until eight days before the Premier League’s opening weekend, both clubs have taken the pre-emptive step of confirming the fixture on Sunday 11 August (kick-off 2pm) in any case.

The decision has been taken to provide certainty to supporters of both clubs planning to attend the match as early as possible and to avoid the possibility of plans being disrupted at short notice.

Home tickets for the match will go on sale from Monday 8 July, with prices and priority processes to be confirmed in due course.

The new fixture details are below:

Leicester City vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers
King Power Stadium
Sunday 11 August, 2019
Kick-off: 2pm BST

Inevitable really with them in the EL they could have left it to see if they made it thru but ar least this way we know.

Expect Chelsea to follow suit.

Which means if the TV companies fancy getting Sheff Utd on early doors our 1st month of the season could be pish.

Are people seriously surprised at this?

Wolves are in the EL and that was known the moment the season finished. Given they're in at a very early stage, they'd have always been likely to play on the Thursday before the season starts. Therefore our game was never going to be played on the Saturday...

This. The earlier the better. The Premier League/TV companies get a load of stick for moving games fairly late; they've given us nearly 2 months notice now as opposed to 18th July when the 2nd legs of the first round qualifying games are over and Wolves then find out their opponents.

Shame, but at least it's a sensible move which allows people to plan accordingly. Shame there wasn't the same foresight from the relevant authorities before the Man City away game last season...

Well I think the TV companies expected Man City to beat Spurs in the CL and why not. It was an extreme scenario. It was always going to be a TV game.

"Extreme scenario"? They were playing Spurs, not Dog & Duck FC. Both were always going to be TV games, but they could have been placed in slots which were satisfactory for all possible scenarios in the first place instead of mucking us about with a few days notice, and people having already booked trains and hotels etc.

Well, with 6 English clubs in European action, it was pretty extreme. They did say the fixture is subject to European participation before. Agree it is not ideal for planning, but it's not like this happens every week.

Good early start to the usual fixture shuffling ...   could be a record season for having the least number of league games on a Saturday afternoon ...

Fvckin bolox !

Well, with TV companies having 4/5 games every weekend, that means Saturday 15:00 will be 5/6 games max per weekend. Usually there's only about 4/5 games.

They aren't on sale yet mate, keep an eye on the website/emails to see when they release they either try or ask around.

Will do thank you. Just guessing as it's the 1st game it will be sold out before general sale. And maybe a season ticket holder couldn't make the Sunday would be happy to sell.

Not done this before as feel awkward begging, but looking for two tickets. Flights booked down and already had to change them due to match day moving, and we're currently without tickets.

Any help appreciated.
