foxy boxing Posted 3 September 2019 Posted 3 September 2019 He was young, raw and had potential when we signed him but didn't show his talent enough. good look to him at Amiens.
Molson Canadian Posted 3 September 2019 Posted 3 September 2019 https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/leicester-city-winger-seals-late-3279758 Leicester City winger Fousseni Diabate is headed to Ligue 1 outfit Amiens on a season-long loan. A deal was struck for the out-of-favour attacker just before the French transfer deadline closed at 11pm on Monday. The clubs were awaiting ratification on the deal from the French Football Federation, but the green light has now been given. Diabate will join Amiens on a season-long loan with no option to buy at this point. City will also have the option to assess the loan in January and to recall the Mali youth international if he doesn't manage to get regular game time in Ligue 1.

Lesta2014 Posted 3 September 2019 Posted 3 September 2019 Why hasn’t this been reported by official website? Same with ghezzal?
coolhandfox Posted 3 September 2019 Posted 3 September 2019 Young enough to still develop, this is a good move all round!
Wizerud Posted 3 September 2019 Posted 3 September 2019 Well at least he gets to play now. If he's that great, he's still our player. If he's dogshite, he's still our player.

The way he played that day had that thread purring with excitement. We had found a world class player for just one million! Another Mahrez! Which is just the way our match threads say we are the world's best team when we go 1-0 up in a match. And why we are this is the worst side in history when we go 1-0 down in a match!

Ha! - yeah he was at Burton wasn't he. I'm sure he moved to Bolton Wanderers - so whether he'a still "playing" at all is a moot point.
Cadno'r Cymoedd Posted 4 September 2019 Posted 4 September 2019 Bon chance to the guy, hope he does well and thrives there and if he does, maybe he comes back and does well for us. No need for snide comments about him.
moore_94 Posted 4 September 2019 Posted 4 September 2019 It's official ! Fousseni Diabaté is loaned a season without option to buy at @AmiensSC by the English club of @LCFC . Welcome Fousseni!

As for this transfer, I don't think anyone should feel bad about it. Taking a chance on a promising French player has worked for us twice before in Knocky and Mahrez, and he wasn't totally inept having some good moments. I am convinced it was during last year's preseason where he killed his chance here. He knew he had to perform and just kept putting in stinker after stinker. What did he cost 2.5m? I'd far rather take punts like that than 25m signings that end up on loan. I'm sure there was a third just can't think of his name!!

UPinCarolina Posted 4 September 2019 Posted 4 September 2019 Can’t help but think that in the end we’ll still make a profit on him. IIRC he cost roughly what George Thomas cost, who doesn’t seem to be any farther along - and maybe even stalled.
