People need to grow up. The guys 21/22 and is getting abuse like from people about a tackle in a football game. If this is what the world's coming to, I want out. I love football but this makes me hate it. The increase in racist abuse is really, really sad. Made worse by the fact that the social media companies do absolutely nothing to stop it or even discourage it.

Hamza is a year below me and I have no idea how I'd cope with hundreds of people sending racist slurs and threats. Football is a brilliant sport, ruined by brainless twats. It infuriates me how social media companies or the government haven't started to enforce things to stop this happening. With the tech we have, it's not difficult to track these people down. Something needs to be done

I take your point but I'm pretty sure the technology exists to recognise and delete this stuff instantly. You'd think there'd be safeguards whereby a Tweet that contains the word n*****r can't even be posted. It shouldn't even take half an hour to detect and delete. How many people will have seen it in that 30 minute window?

Annoyingly, you're right. We can't just censor out every mildly offensive term. Companies are just going to have to get quicker at identifying and removing posts with words like n***** etc. You just need lower tolerance and repercussions for it. There is 100% a way of identifying who the offenders Are.

The problem with that is that players with have promotional deals (i.e with Adidas or Nike) that they have to promote on their social accounts that they earn a tonne of money through, you can counter that and say then don’t agree to those deals but why shouldn’t they? I won’t tar all Liverpool fans with the same brush but there’s a proportion of their fans that are disgusting - more so than any other UK club imo, the fact Liverpool haven’t even put out a statement condemning it does reflect well on them either. Always the victims though aren’t they. I don’t think Hamza will let it affect him, he’s unfortunately probably used to it but let’s make sure we get behind him from the stands next game!

Always the victims though aren’t they. Says a lot doesn't it? A Chelsea fan was caught doing it, the club banned him for life and it was all over the news. Hamza is targeted and all we get is a LCFC statement. If it turns out to be Liverpool fans, you'd expect a full statement condoning the actions and banning 'fans' from Anfield. (Not that that impacts most of their fan base) Wouldn't hurt Klopp to come out and condone it either.
CosbehFox Posted 6 October 2019 Posted 6 October 2019 Liverpool have past history for not being the most condemning of their fans when they are idiots. I’m talking recent times as opposed to events of another generation. You can sum up the club recently with their attempts to copyright Liverpool, You’ll Never Walk Alone and Allez, Allez, Allez. They are one of the few clubs who actively shut down streams and recorded clips themselves as opposed to the PL.

They could IP block them for a start. They will still find a a way to make the tweets but it would be more pf a hassle
urban fox Posted 6 October 2019 Posted 6 October 2019 Every post on social media leaves a trail such as the iP address of the device from where it came. They can target us with ads so they can definately trace such offensive posts if there was a real will to do so.
ScouseFox Posted 6 October 2019 Posted 6 October 2019 yeah that’s fine but like i said basically every post that gets highlighted does get deleted or blocked etc anyway. the one highlighted above is literally only available to anyone to see because it’s on hamza’s instagram story that he has posted. im not really sure what my point is but i’ve always wondered why social media gets the blame for the action of its users. it’s like if one fella in our ground called someone a monkey, they’d probably (hopefully) get removed. are we then gonna start issuing gaffa tape as well as clappers so we can all tape our mouths closed because someone else might say something offensive? the people are the problem, not the platform. so unless your solution is to kill all the people then i’m afraid you’ve just gotta get on with your life. it’s just pointless words on a screen. surely nobody actually gets upset about anything on the internet anymore?

With the tracking and technology available they could easily track 99% of these people down. They just don't want to. In fact they already know who they are, where they live, what they like, where they go, who they hang out with, where they work, everyone they come in contact with, their favourite food, what car they drive, who they're related to and what they're going to do next before they even do.

THE INSTRUCTOR Posted 6 October 2019 Posted 6 October 2019 If hamza had done that wearing a England shirt he would be a hero he did nothing wrong . Horse teeth German kock should be blaming the ref for not blowing up for salah fouling soyunch then the challenge wasn’t necessary. Hamza is the victim here of poor refereeing

willie-bell-in-rothley Posted 7 October 2019 Posted 7 October 2019 This is not a football problem its a social problem, to many blame football

Was trying to convey this point in my mind, but feared it would sound like I was trying to excuse racism. Which I definitely am not. A person is usually reasonable, but people are liable for this type of herd/group mentality of brainless bigotry Social media is a tailor made platform for this.
ozleicester Posted 7 October 2019 Posted 7 October 2019 People say its the power of anonymity, but its more than that, its racist world leaders allowing even supporting this hate

Babylon Posted 7 October 2019 Posted 7 October 2019 I was expecting the foul to be horrific after Klopps reaction and the abuse online, it was a complete freak accident that he got hurt. It wasn't a great tackle but there was no malice or intent there at all. He was just unlucky his thigh caught him. Ludicrous reaction from Liverpool.... clearly deflecting attention away from their own swan diving.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 7 October 2019 Posted 7 October 2019 Liverpool Football Club deflecting the attention away from their wrongs by highlighting someone else's. Imagine my shock.
Finnaldo Posted 7 October 2019 Posted 7 October 2019 Imagine a club so quick to bring up their own tragedies and injustices being this vile. Don't think their support of Suarez has been forgotten either. That scruff Klopp and his disgusting stained teeth and coffee & fag breath is a perfect reflection of a large chunk of their fanbase. Absolute lowest of the low constantly dropping to new levels of subhuman behaviour.
