I think everyone recognises Kane is a first class goal scorer, but it's not controversial to suggest Abraham, on form, is/should be the first reserve for England centre forward.

 

In a dead rubber like tonight Abraham  should be getting game time, it's a no brainer.

Kane was never coming off there. Abraham could score another 50+ goals this season and he’d know come the Euros, he’d be on the bench with Kane starting.

Waste of a trip for Callum Wilson- played no minutes in these games. We play one striker who is the captain so likely to play all important games and even these as well.

 

Abraham should've started, if he didn't work then Wilson gets a go- four months until the next squad now.

I'm not sure people are getting his comment here, yes Chilly plays for England and Maguire did when he played for us. But Madisson seemingly isn't getting a look in despite being one of the best performing midfielders in the league this season and not just from the English lads. Maddison may question what else he can do and therefore may question if being at a "bigger club" will increase his chances. That's what the chap who made the initial comment is suggesting (I think) not that he actually believes moving to a "bigger club" will help. Southgate obviously has his favourites and possibly just doesn't like maddison's confidence/arrogance? Who knows?!

im surprised that they didn’t say he failed a fitness test rather than have him as an unused sub ..... I suspect he wanted to be part of the match day squad rather than ‘sitting in the stands’

Should've sent him home then for us to assess ahead of the Brighton match.

 

Also proves how much drama was made out of the casino visit. He is a squad player down the pecking order.

He isn't getting a look in because simply the manager is horrendously clueless. 

He has no plan, no identity, no clear playstyle. Lucked through the World Cup. And despite already qualifying and having an opportunity to give those that haven't had a proper chance the 'look in' you're calling for, he blatantly hasn't. That's not the player, it's the manager and his choices. 

If Maguire and Chilwell can get into the set up with Leicester, then why should big club bias come into play when as stated loads of times, he's the most creative player in Europe with chances made.

As has been said so many times in commentary, We have 4 games till the squad is announced. 

 

Wilson got maybe 5 minutes in the last internationals? Seriously is no point calling him up. But I agree with you, this was a game we could've used to give Abraham and Wilson some minutes to see how they perform in the team. 

 

No one's calling for Kane to be replaced, We just need more options, which we won't find if they're sat on the bench with 10 minute cameos

It's bizarre that players that need more experience aren't getting it though. What kind of management is that? 

 

We're going into a tournament with midfield and defence still not sorted because of an obsession with playing winks, Barkley etc.

 

Players not good enough for tournament football.

 

Even after all this time he's had to prepare the squad for the Euro's will feel very lastminute.com
