Just popped the Dundee derby on through curiosity. Standard is woeful. League two at a guess. So had a quick Google and cursory glance at the respective wages

League 2 average around 150k annually and SPL 130k (nit sure if that figure allows for Celtic's wage bill, which would obvs skew the average)

Not that I REALLY care, but it makes me laugh when people claim that it's just a 'small minority' that participate in sectarian chanting. There were literally thousands of people singing 'we're upto our knees in Fenian blood'.

Very little, if any, quality on show.

Aye, that's just something that people like to say. It's NEVER been the case. Sadly the thousands of fans that sing it are just so desensitised to the words that come out their face, they barely view it as sectarian at all.

The match winner for Dundee United can’t get a game for Wrexham.

Brilliant occasions tho. Look forward to visiting in March

It's the 1st time in ages "No pope of Rome" has had an outing.

It was a real toe tapper in the 80's......😁

It's always funny one of the old firm getting a hosing. I'd imagine Taylor, Scales and McCowan are getting rinsed on Kerrydale Street.

The bits I saw, Bernardo, Hatate and Kyogo were just as bad if not worse.

Not sure Tavenier gets a start for a while.

Part of the problem is English clubs hoovering up the young promising players from the academies due to Brexit.

The EPL and championship are littered with them. Most of them don't make it due to losing  out on playing 1st team football in their formative years.

Dundee or Edinburgh derbies are more kick and run than silky passing movements 😁

Still, full house, great atmosphere and a last minute winner. I'd imagine the Utd fans don't give a stuff about the quality.

In a perverse way, the lack of quality replaced with attitude and aggression is part of the reason for the atmosphere in the stands.

It's pointless comparing English and Scottish football, they are completely different business models. Both leagues can be appreciated for what they are.

Given in scotland you can rip up seats light flares throw bottles at players and theres rarely ever a stadium ban for anyone, makes me think they aint gonna ban 10,000 fans for singing songs.

Let’s be thankful a majority of the younger lot singing it have no association with the past violence and haven’t lived through it, so it’s easy to see why they’re disassociated.

I do enjoy how they all genuinely despise each other (until it gets dangerous and violent of course).

I love watching scottish games, people keep on about the standard but give me a poorer standard with end to end football, a distinct lack of pocession football, vivacious crowds over what we had anyday..but hey thats just me, each to their own.

It’s fun to poke fun at Scottish football but I’m coming to learn this, by far prefer and enjoy the lower leagues in England to all the “talent and skill” on show in the “best league in the world”, give me two committed teams any day.

The passion is superb though. The players and fans look like they actually care plus I always feel refs let more go.
