Tuna Posted 27 February 2020 Posted 27 February 2020 There is actually a player who played in that final still playing professionally, Goalkeeper Joe Murphy now at Shrewsbury Town.
Md9 Posted 27 February 2020 Posted 27 February 2020 I was there 😬 made up for being at the spurs the test before would love a trip to the new Wembley to see us in a final
steveherbe Posted 27 February 2020 Posted 27 February 2020 Watched it at Eastleigh leisure centre with @Sol thewall Bamba, he was only 6 at the time!. Seen some stuff since then mate ain't we?
Corky Posted 27 February 2020 Posted 27 February 2020 Last League Cup winners at the original Wembley, you'll never sing that.
TrentFox Posted 27 February 2020 Posted 27 February 2020 The first English team to win silverware in this millennium 😊

Footballwipe Posted 27 February 2020 Posted 27 February 2020 Christ almighty you'd have thought someone would've corrected Taggart on his memories about the Crystal Palace tie so it would at least be accurate. "Replay" he claims, when it was a two-legged affair. EDIT: I'm really going to try hard not to be that weird nerd, but just to add, if anyone does want to see footage (which doesn't exist) of the second leg (which Arlo White correctly states) then it's on this Season Review...

StriderHiryu Posted 27 February 2020 Posted 27 February 2020 I was this game as a teenager in the crowd and have many fond memories! I really loved Martin O'Neil and his team, very likable characters (possibly bar Savage!) who worked hard for one another. They didn't have the best technical quality but they always fought for everything and gave it their all, which I found very motivational. Our current side and 2016 heroes rightly get the praise for being our best ever team, but MON's team as well as the team that reached multiple FA Cup finals are great moments in our club's history. Thanks to all those that posted videos and pictures in the thread, it's put a big old smile on my face!
Hollyfox Posted 27 February 2020 Posted 27 February 2020 Those two cup final wins💙 I never thought that life could get any better as a LCFC fan. How wrong I was💙👍
irishfoxkev Posted 27 February 2020 Posted 27 February 2020 Great day ...don’t know how I got thru it though as had virtually no sleep previous 2 nights...Fri night overnight flight from USA to Dublin so grabbed bout 1 hours kip....Sat was my Mum and Dads 50th wedding anniversary so full on all day and party on Sat night...Got to bed at 4.00am Sun up at 6.30 am to get early flight to London......Adrenaline and excitement kept me going for the day....no Red Bull in those days 😀 Watching John Aldridge leading Tranmere out reminded me of a charity gig we had in my local golf club couple of years ago .Aldridge was one of the main guests and had agreed to do half hour question and answer session. I met him before it started and told him I was lifelong Leicester fan.....During Q&A session someone asked what wa# his most disappointing moment of his career....his answer was he had to thank someone in the audience who is a Leicester fan for reminding him how devastating it was to lose as a manager in a Cup final...It surpassed all his disappointments as a player 🦊🦊
foxile5 Posted 28 February 2020 Posted 28 February 2020 I was there. Dave Challinor's long throw was something we feared in the run up. David Kelly was booked for his excessive celebrations. The ref was carried off injured. Martin O'Neill leaping about on the sidelines. Absolute salad days as a Leicester fan. Some of the most fun to be had.
Carl the Llama Posted 28 February 2020 Posted 28 February 2020 Grandad took me to this, I would've been 11 at the time. Fantastic day out, never going to forget Elliott rising in slow motion to nudge in that winning header, what a hero.
