3 Players Show Signs/Symptoms of Coronavirus

Shut the league (and cup) down until the international break and then go from there. Two weeks off is worth it for the health and safety of thousands more, plus any uncertainty about who has it, who might catch it, the odd match being postponed is taken out of the equation.

Other leagues are doing it, we should follow suit.

I think we are now the only top league in football who hasn’t put some sort of measure in place

Brendan realised we've got big injury worries for Saturday so spotted 3 players with a runny nose and sent them home with 'Corona Virus symptoms' in the hope the game gets cancelled

It will be an absolute farce if our game isn't cancelled on Saturday if we have players showing symptoms, after Man City / Arsenal was cancelled mid-week for something less.  It would show a massive big club bias and could have a big impact on CL qualification.  It could take a couple of weeks of our players being less than 100% as flu like symptoms start to show while they perform.

I think it is likely that Watford would kick up a fuss as well as they wouldn’t want the risk of infection either

Do you know what you are talking about? Read up. It is not an airborne virus. It gets passed on through droplets (ie. coughing) and touching infected surface and then touching your nose/mouth.

Whilst this is of course very true,  if we are being encouraged to not even shake hands, then surely the closer and more physical contact between players inherent in any football match has also got to be questionable. How many players cough and spit during a game who then go on to touch their faces for example?

As Rodgers said in his Sky interview, these things are a matter of health and players have family and children. To those having tests I hope they come back negative and wish the very best for them. Health is more important than football.

We have 3 players with symptoms, if any of them do actually have it that will be our entire club, and any Aston Villa club member close to them on Monday having to be self-isolated and tested

Chelsea cancelled training after squad member may have come close to someone with symptoms

Already had the Arsenal V Man City game suspended due to fears after the Forest/Olympiakos owner confirmed having it, which also resulted in entire Nottingham Forest staff being tested

What on earth are the FA actually doing? Waiting for someone to actually be confirmed as having it, possibly passing it on to all their teammates, and then suspending the league?

Absolute farce.

I can tell you for a fact that not all Forrest staff were tested.

Suspend the league, no relegations no promotions. Go again next year, if we’re not all dead.

Well who knows, a virus can easily mutate and start being more deadly to those that are healthier... it is why WHO are concerned, it is a virus we don’t understand... but I don’t want to scare you or anything lol

However, that is unlikely to happen, if anything it will be something like the flu that we can contain in the end. Hopefully

Knowing our luck, we'll qualify for the Champions League by default...

...And next year's Champions League will be cancelled.

It likely will be. This virus ain’t about to burn out in a few weeks. Then we will probably see an uptick as winter approaches. Gonna be a long ride folks, and not much room on the four horses of the apocalypse.

If we are the only fully fit team for the CL next season, does that mean we get the trophy? important question

I think that is exactly what it is... just be out for Watford though if it goes ahead... being on tv it will...

The problem is the overwhelming majority of cases of COVID-19 present like a cold. So they'd probably never know they had it unless it got severe.

At the same time the virus can also mutate itself to a lesser strain either in terms of virulence or transmission
