Ridiculous.

Stuff like this just detracts from the genuine acts of racism that we should be stamping out.

Not only that, after finding out he wasn't the victim of racist hate crime, he doubled down and insisted it was.

Usually a person would be relieved to know they aren't a victim, instead, he tries to convince people he still is! Not only that, before the truth came out he said that anyone who doesn't believe it was a noose is racist! You can't make it up.

Yep, as demonstrated in the last page with that spate of mysterious "suicides" going on which look highly suspicious.

Given the current situation (as above) and given the location and affiliations of at least some NASCAR enthusiasts, I think it's rather easy to jump to conclusions about something that looks like a noose being left near the effects of a person of colour and the guy continuing to get antsy about it. Of course, it wasn't in this case, and it now may be used as a most convenient smokescreen by those who don't think a problem exists with racism in the US at all and would rather everyone shut up and things not change.

On the other hand, now we've got a bunch of people who are so keen to prove racism exists, that everytime a white person argues with a black guy or any slight towards a person of colour will be jumped on and blown up out of every proportion. There just won't be enough racism to go round.

Christ, I best not argue with the wife!

I think if he came out in the media and said he made an honest mistake and apologised for getting the wrong end of the stick, the message would go way further than any of these protests.

Have you even read the link posted above by simFox? He literally says the opposite of what you, simFox, have accused him of saying. Whilst doing the exact thing he was worried about happening.

From the link posted above by simFox.

Also from the link he also says it is a noose, he has raced for years and never seen a door pull like that, it is "unequivocally a noose", which it is. Ok so it wasn't put there for him, but is it unreasonable for him to reach that conclusion in these heightened times.  His comments are in response to the people questioning his integrity and accusing him of making it all up or deliberately making it into something it's not.

Erm, you haven't watched his video or interview then? Maybe you should.

You mean this one: https://www.cnn.com/2020/06/24/us/bubba-wallace-response-fbi-hate-crime-investigation/index.html

He says it's a noose, because, it's a noose, it wasn't tied for him but it's a noose. Nobody knows why it's there but it's there somebody tied a door pull into a noose for reasons only known to them. As confirmed by the FBI investigation and stated quite calmly by Wallace.

What is your issue with what he said? Or is it a different interview?

Twenty-two police officers have been injured and their vehicles damaged during clashes at an illegal street party in south-west London.

Police were called following complaints from residents about noise and violence near Angell Town in Brixton on Wednesday night.

Seriously - they have schools in US right?

how is this level of ignorance and lunacy even possible ?

Outrage and self interest is outweighing the value of truth  at a quite alarming rate, and this is happening globally, albeit at a varying rate.

It wasn't a noose it's a bowline, a handle fashioned into a rope to make using it easier to use for the purpose intended. It was there for years and photographed in use by other users of the garage, before bubba decided it was noose, as confirmed by the 15 FBI agents.

But according to bubba, it's still a noose (after he was told it wasn't)

Internet access combined with poor education and a woeful lack of critical thinking.

It is Democracy yes, but at what point does disinformation become a danger to the public? (As the stupid ******* ####### cannot be trusted to behave)  :dunno:

Would hazard a guess that collective ignorance and sangria were not what Cleisthenes had in mind lol

Christ, I best not argue with the wife!

This is 100% true.

However, for all the bark (and occasional nip) that the Twitterati have, they don't come close to matching the bite that the US law enforcement and legal institutions possess in terms of affecting numbers of people adversely over periods of time based on their demographic, and that needs to be made very, very clear. It's very easy with all the noise going on right now to overestimate the former and underestimate the latter - either innocently or maliciously for an agenda.

It certainly wouldn't hurt, I agree.

The scenes in Brixton aren't related to BLM but they must look at that and think, FFS.

Gives so much ammunition to people who are against them. Mad how little it's being talked about really, crazy scenes.

The race baiting and defunding the police rhetoric from BLM is not related to the incident in Brixton?

Is there any hard evidence that the two are related? Burden of proof lies in that direction on this one.

Easy to say they aren't related because the "party-goers" weren't flying BLM flags but let's be honest, with the amount of anti-police rhetoric doing the rounds it would be hard to envisage that it doesn't have some effect on last night's outcome.

Hopefully whoever is running the latest BLM twitter feed comes out and reminds everyone that black lives mattering starts, ironically, with black lives.

I imagine it's just a coincidence though. The media would surely have reported a connection.
