Sounds like a bullshitter, not qualified to comment on data analysis or infectious diseases.

If only people had just followed the advice, rather then try to find ways to justify why it didn't apply to them / disbelieve it was actually a thing / selfishly carry on because 'I'm alright Jack' / believe random idiots with absolutely no idea what they're talking about on YouTube.

We keep hearing the phrases 'cases doubling every so-many days' and 'exponential growth' in the same sentence. If I'm not mistaken, as case numbers are discrete values and the rate of increase is doubling at a set rate, what we have is a geometric sequence, not exponential growth!

Wouldn’t be surprised if this delay to the announcement is planned.

get everyone tuned in, while the media get the doom merchants on to fill your head with all this rubbish as to why a lockdown is necessary

Government delaying the announcement twice. They're obviously still discussing what to do. Imo when announcing you'll be holding a press conference that means everything is signed and put in place, not that you're still nowhere near finalising things. Doesn't fill me with any confidence in the decisions. Everything done one the fly, thats the Johnson way.

I'd be willing to bet wed still be in pretty much the same situation. Id also bet that cases will still rise in spite of whats about to happen. It's a microscopic airborne virus in a country of 60m people with the weather turning. If you're not in full lockdown then cases are gonna continually rise.
