Now the Turkish international has sent a message to City fans.

"Every moment I put this jersey on, I try to be aware of my responsibilities on the pitch," he wrote on social media.

"I know I made all of you and myself upset with an instant mistake.

Leicester City latest

"More important, to be seen as a bad example is not a type of experience that I want to have.

"My teammates had to play without me due to my bad which I do not comprehend why I did that when I have a clear mind.

"My sincere apologies to all of my teammates and fans."

Soyuncu will now miss the remaining three games of the season

The flying elbow on Diego Costa wasn't exactly subtle lol

Fair but he got away with far more than he got caught doing throughout his career.

I actually think a peak Wasyl playing alongside Cags might be my dream centre back partnership.

Great to see he's not hiding, but it's still such a stupid unforced error from a 'professional', that cost us in the short term and very much weakens our position for the remaining games too

Tbf we'd already lost when he did it.

I still often think of Wasyl's scissor tackle on the Newcastle player a few years ago. Absolutely beautiful.

The only thing he needs to apologise for is his post-lockdown barnet.

Was never really that angry at him. I felt like kicking something last night too.

It's more the team as a collective I can't abide at the moment.
