Can't believe he's only 29! That's a huge career nosedive.

He really wasn’t great was he? Couldn’t beat an egg and scored the odd wonder goal to mask some absolutely dreadful performances

Disagree was really decent here for a short while and quite an exciting signing at one point but obviously something went badly badly wrong.

I was ready to call you all idiots for believing he'd go from Norwich to the 12th tier of English football because of wikipedia. But it's actually true. Wow

Think Kerrea Gilbert ended up in non league very quickly after we had him. Just shows sometimes you can be carrying players that aren't even good enough to be paid more than us.

Stoneclough

In October 2019, Marshall signed for West Lancashire Division One side Stoneclough in a bid to help the 12th tier side push for promotion. Stoneclough had kept it under wraps until 19 January 2020 when they announced on Twitter he had signed for them. He kills it a CB turn and passing his way out. Bragging about who he is, giving it the big one. [39]

Probably a bit like bullying in a normal work place, mills could have probably took on Pearson in a fight, I don’t know either so from my point of view.

Like all bullies Pearson held the power, and if he reported it, I’m guessing it was just the two in the office, so his word against Pearson, and could have ruined his career being known as a problem player.

Or as happened Pearson refused to let him near the first team, potentially damaging his mental well being if it is as he says, he did nothing but ask a question, and being assaulted, and the fear of facing that bully every day.

It was the worst kept secret at the club, everyone talk about it on here at the time, but either way, with Pearson’s surly, arrogant, egotistic behaviour with opposing players, and media, I wouldn’t be surprised if he would become violent if somebody questioned him, in my opinion.

Bullying and other issues are rife in football, as in all work places, and behaviour like this if proven, or any proven bullying, should mean the instant dismissal, bullying is vile and shouldn’t be accepted in any walk of life, or allowed due to the bullies position of power, this is why I disliked Pearson, his personality has the appearance of a bully, and I hate bullies, but that on own take on Pearson

when pearson 3.0 happens you might need to jog on to coventry

The bloke ain’t getting a job, talking about reputations in football, he’s got one and it ain’t good, doubt many chairman’s will want to work with him.

When Pearson never comes back, you’d better jog on to the lower league’s to follow him 👍

Pearson mean, Pearson drop Matt Mills, Pearson sack.

 :nigel:

Don’t think mills is suggesting he was just dropped is he, if he was assaulted as mills is suggesting, a sacking offence, I don’t think keeping a player out the side is, be sensible Pearson 🐑

Marshall surely must be better than 12th tier. He has had a good career at a good level and he's only 29. Not past it.

Judging from the link, despite the tongue-in-cheek Wiki entry.....this does seem to be true: https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/18173781.bolton-amateur-club-landed-former-rovers-winger/

Might be temporary though....

“It’s gone mad all of a sudden,” said club secretary Peter Conroy. “This has caused a real buzz, but he’s actually been with us since October, he is a local lad, from Swinton way, and he was mates with a few of the lads and just wanted to come down just to get fit. “We had to contact Norwich City (Marshall’s former club) to get him released, which you never think you’ll have to do in amateur football, and we’ve had Sky Sports on wanting to cover the story too.

Bully lol lol wtf.

We needed someone like Pearson to sort the shit out and he did it.

Nobody ever crossed him, just like nobody ever crossed Fergie. I see them as the same sort. If someone thought they were better than Man Utd, Fergie got rid.

Publicity stunt, it seems. Probably a mates' team judging by the "interview".

He does look like he's put on a few pounds though since being a free agent.

Found this interview from when he joined the 12th tier team

https://www.expressandstar.com/sport/football/wolverhampton-wanderers-fc/2020/01/20/former-wolves-man-ben-marshall-signs-for-12th-tier-side/

"The main thing that appealed to me is you can train once a week – and it is optional."

After all his injuries could be that he just isn’t up to the rigours of professional football anymore but still wants to have a kick about

😂 ok you go to work ask your boss to punch you and demote you for motivation 😂

The is a line between being no nonsense, and strict, and not taking shit, to becoming physical because someone challenges you

Yeah, Big Nige the bully. Bringing in the likes of Wes, Wasil, Ulloa, Drinkwater, Simpson so he could push them around and beat them up when he felt like it. Millsy is a victim, he was a good lad, he did nothing wrong!

We’ve heard one side, from a player who was shit and had problems with attitude. That’s all. Now you’re jumping to some sort of conclusion.

Pearson brought in other players, other players that might have had “issues” like Simpson, and nothing happened.

People used to write shite all time about Pearson when he was here. Remember when he supposedly hit Wood because Wood slept with his daughter? Guess what, that never happened.

There are only 2 people in the world that know what truly happened. We’ve heard one side of it.

And that person happened to decide to be incredibly brief and unelaborative over the biggest and main issue, whilst making himself appear to be an innocent party.

We haven't even heard that.

But we should all stop giving Monsell the attention, it's enough to know that he'll burn in hell for this blasphemy.

Remember seeing Ben Marshall in the KFC on the Narborough Road after our first home game of the 2012-13 season against Peterboro.

He was with a number of his cronies and my 82 year old dad appeared to be looking in his direction when one his mates piped up and asked my dad ' who was he looking at' I suggested to dad to ignore him and the guy just laughed,

I've never forgotten that and totally lost respect for BM after that, how the mighty fall  probably to many KFC's and the wrong company.
