Trump's refusal to leave with ongoing legal challenges could bring out protesting (likely from both sides) which then gives the looters a hall pass to do their usual thing. Think the odd year with Corona doesn't help as people have a lot of cooped up anger over the whole way the year has gone.

He's toast, there's little legal ground for his lawsuits and he'll at best delay the inevitable. There will be a bit of riots and unrest in the following weeks. but it will die down eventually imo. 

 

It's still a pyrrhic victory for the Dems though. There was no blue wave and the fact that almost 70M voted for the orange chump, indicates that the Trumpism wasn't defeated. Far from it, his supporters aren't going anywhere and he deeply transformed the GOP. If not for Covid, I'm persuaded that Trump would've effortlessly won this election. Biden, or to be more accurate, Harris have their work cut out for them. 

 

That said, my bottle of champagne is ready.

Maybe. But I think there'll be considerable fall out between the family and the GOP. The sons have already been taking shots at the party. Plus, there's probably a point at which the GOP think that their experiment flirting with the hardcore far right might have backfired.

People going on about how the US will now become a one party state which isn't good for democracy.

Fairly simple the GOP can reposition themselves to appeal to more of the younger and better educated, non WASP population.

Hope you're right. The problem is if they do abandon this strategy and it fails for the next two or three cycles, they might think " Well what/who won us the White House last time and how can we repeat that?" and revert. Not convinced that would work but it's a possibility.

This just shows how desperate he is. You don't claim fruad then beg the public for evidence. You're supposed to claim fraud based on evidence you already have.

I read somewhere the other day they'd already raised $8m in donations from supporters towards the legal fight to overturn the counts.

 

Imagine being that ****ing dumb that you'd donate money to a ****ing billionaire.
