Tier 4 Commentary

I have heard that commentators in tier 4 are not allowed to go to away matches. If so Radio Leicester would not be able to travel. Does anybody know if this is correct?

Surely it’s classed as “work”. Like all other new outlets. 
 

Or, as it’ll be on some form of media, they could just turn the sound off on the television and comment on it like that.

They did commentary from Leicester for the palace game, however thats because London were in Tier 4 and we were Tier 3.

 

Not sure, but I assume the same will happen for the foreseeable now we are in T4 too.

Thanks, I did not realise that. So it looks like no travelling in or out of tier 4 areas. Either commentate from home or take the local commentary.

Do you really give a shit about Radio Leicester? Stringer is ****ing awful. 

 

All games will be on TV. Don't worry about it.

...the BBC has decided that non of their football commentary staff will be travelling to Tier 4 areas, the commentary for the Palace game was broadcast from the Radio Leicester studio!!!

To be fair I don’t know why commentators need to travel to the stadiums anymore. Granted you might get a better perspective, but in these times surely they can do an ok job for a studio - particularly when even the crowd noise is fake etc.

Certainly in the Premier League there will always be pictures available. Not the case in the lower leagues though.

To be honest Radio is faster than TV.. might have something to do with it 🤷‍♂️

 

Interested to know how betting in-play is done now too. Its always infront of Sky/BT and practically in line with Radio comentary. Are RunningBallers allowed in Stadiums 🧐🤔

...lots of microphones around the ground, you get a big insight as to what is going on, mostly what is being said and players reactions to officials on the pitch...step forward......Kasper!!!

He is, he really is, but at the same time I find him and his Alan Partridge tribute act strangely compelling. 

 

Against United he mentioned something that the club had put out about 'little Wes'.  As far as I'm concerned the name first emerged in these pages before Fofana had signed.  Who could forget 'Big Wes, Little Wes. Cardboard box'?  Nonetheless Stringer shamelessly stole it and claimed it as his own.  "I'm so glad the club latched on to my Little Wes, Big Wes thing" he said.  He is an ocean-going, copper-bottomed codpiece but no doubt I'll tune in next time

 

What was the question again?  Ah yes, the Radio Leicester team won't be able to travel.

Saw Daggers (ex Radio Leicester) post a picture of him doing cricket commentary of Australia, remotely through watching live footage.

 

I imagine it won't be that difficult to arrange if commentators can't physically be in stadiums. Lose a touch of authenticity but then so does fake crowd noise so :dunno:

Think the radio Leicster commentary team gets a bit of unnecessary stick. Why so much hate for Stringer? Tbh quite enjoy the post match and football forum stuff as additional LCFC content after watching the match on TV.

Getting rather excited at the prospect of hearing Stringer’s commentary whilst watching the game on the box. I imagine it will be something like this 

 

 

My 8K QLED screen combines high vibrancy with class-leading HDR performance and sensational colour reproduction, plus its upscaling really does make 4K video look close to 8K – I can genuinely detect how it makes 4K look better than it would normally, which is great at bigger screen sizes. You really should go out and buy one of these boys and girls although you probably can’t afford one as they are just shy of the price of an executive family size car. I was given one by the manufacturers in recognition of my services to broadcasting

Thanks to an innovative full-array backlight ( which I actually designed in my spare time) , it not only delivers convincing shiny highlights, but also does a fine job managing deep black levels.

Each pixel on the screen acts as a tiny speaker providing awesome bass and highs in panoramic soundscape. It’s abilities are best showcased by my bedroom created deep house orchestral play alongs that accompany my rich authoratitive commentary. You can truly pick out the pure excitement and tremor in my voice as I scream in delight at the fans being able to listen to me on the radio. 

 

Now on to what sandwich I ate earlier ....
