Not a great bowling display in the second inns.

 

But once again the bowlers have no scored board pressure to work with, if we'd have got 250 in the first inns the pressure on NZ at 50 odd for 4 would have been massive.

This is basically game over for England now barring a miracle aka Headingley 2019. They must be the only team who can lose from a position of 45-7. Sensational stuff.

Great knock by Mitchell. Soon to be joined by Blundell. 

 

Pretty much could have won the game for NZ. Hope rain doesn't get in the way of getting any result for either side.

Got home this morning (overnight sleeper train) and watched the first few overs this morning.

 

Nothing much was happening, so I popped out for half an hour.

 

Dammit.  Missed all that excitement... lol

It feels like that . NZ will be torn between defending a reachable target and setting attacking fields to get the wickets they need . We are helping them out by playing $hit shots or no shot at all instead of batting time and wearing down the bowlers

We’ve got 4 batters left. We either need them all to make a half century or one of them to get a big hundred and the others ti bat round him. I said to my mate this morning I can’t see us getting over 200…

Bowler generally do an ok job, given they are normally always behind the game.

 

Batting is a shambles, tail is far to long.

 

Strangle selection of Pope at 3 who struggled wherever his batted in the test order.
