Waking up at 112-5 I didn't expect us to see us past 300 with wickets remaining. Solid first day in the end, brilliant from Root aided by a few other contributions. 

New ball looks critical on this pitch.

Vaughan has a point about the toss being absolutely critical in this Test.

 

As long as England can set 250+ as a fourth innings target that really should be enough on this deck.
