Best January signing ever

Sky sports have been discussing the best January signings, who do you think is ours? Straight away I thought Mahrez but after looking a bit further into who we have signed in the January transfer window I’ve thrown in another 3 possible candidates (no not Gray)

1, Mahrez, easily the most exciting player I’ve seen in a Leicester shirt.

2, Ndidi, when he’s out we miss him just as much as Vardy.

3, Huth, without him I don’t think we would of stayed up.

4, Big Wes, wasn’t the reason we won the league but he was the glue that held it all together.

have I missed anyone?

Gotta be Wes Morgan in my time watching the club I think. Captained us to two league titles.

Howard and Oakley joined in Jan..... Obviously not our best signings ever but in the end contributed, at that time, to two good seasons under Pearson for us.

Youri.

I loved this. My spurs mate was adamant he was signing for them and wouldn't hear otherwise. Look on his face showing Youri in a leicester shirt was priceless

I think I’ve written and deleted my opinion several times! There’s a case for all but I’ve got to go for Wes. Longevity, consistency and captained us to two titles and a champions league run. Love him.

Huth and Mahrez were important in that they transformed our teams for two different reasons, and Youri being the best all round player I’ve seen in his position since Muzzy, but Wes wins it for me.

Marty Fryatt has to be mentioned. Didn’t make an immediate impact but his form in 2008/09 really was crucial in the club turning its momentum around and heading back up the football league.

Would be an interesting discussion actually - which transfers were most history-changing? Huth definitely but perhaps the trio of Claridge, Lennon and Izzet in late winter 1996.

Longevity wise you could argue for a number of them but in terms of immediate impact it’s got to be Huth. I don’t think I ever realised just how good he was until I saw him play for us. Absolute machine. Wes has a longer term impact on the club and people like Elliott and Walsh are legends but in terms of impact/one season performance I’d say he’s the best defender we’ve ever had. I think there's a strong case to be made that Huth's signing was the most important in our history.

Some folk might scoff but you’re right there’s an extremely strong case for that. Cambiasso also. X

When I saw the thread title I immediately thought of WIlf and I think he was the main reason that we were spared the shame of being relegated champions.

...But then I saw Huth's name.  It has to be Huth for me.  It all began with the great escape.  We would surely have been relegated without him and our greatest hope for this season might be to scrape into the play offs or something.  The title never dreamt of.

While all of the above were excellent signings but for immediate impact it has to be Huth. He was the difference between relegation and staying up.

He also went on to play a big part in our title win.

Got to agree with this....doubtful that any of what has followed since his signing and where we are today would have happened if we hadn't signed him!

Wasn't his debut against Spurs away too?
