Boris has brought them down to new depths but when people start to realise how much it's costing them and that maybe the Tories aren't as safe on the economy as they make out, I think support could plummet. Of course there is the pandemic which will always give them a get out of jail free card with some voters, but I don't think that will fly with alot of voters. This absolutely. If energy and food prices are low the vast majority of people genuinely don't really care what the politicians get up to if its not directly affecting them. This cost of living crisis though combined with all the self serving corruption and lies will absolutely bury them come the next GE.
Legend_in_blue Posted 3 February 2022 Posted 3 February 2022 The financial cost of lockdown begins to show coupled with other inconvenient coincidences, some self inflicted, some not. At the end of it, the NHS will still be an underfunded mess.
RobHawk Posted 3 February 2022 Posted 3 February 2022 Just to top off a great day for Boris given he's had 4 key members of staff hand in their notice, he's also been using misleading figures on crime in parliament. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-60250678 And the potential fallout of boris' Brexit deal, with the NI agreement (remember the red line he wouldn't cross when May was pm) takes another worrying turn https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-60241608

Górnik Leicester Posted 4 February 2022 Posted 4 February 2022 Tory shills are being sent out to say that they aren't resignations (which might make a PM look weak) , they're sackings (which might make a PM look strong). This despite actual resignation letters. Its also extremely funny that, by Johnson parroting the right wing conspiracy theory about Saville, it's actually drawn more attention to the fact that the conspiracy theory isn't correct. 3

Daggers Posted 4 February 2022 Posted 4 February 2022 I for one am delighted that I can now have a blue passport and pay 54% more for my fuel bill. I’m certain nobody ever promised cheaper electricity post-Brexit. Meanwhile, France: 3

Remember these people have highly paid "advisors" who tell them when they should take a piss.

In part caused by a diplomatic situation between Russia and the West. Admittedly not qualified or well read enough on the subject to know the in's and out's. There's a bottle neck of energy supply effectively in summary.

Popular Post Saxondale Posted 4 February 2022 Popular Post Posted 4 February 2022 So tediously predictable that the NI protocol (that Johnson billed himself as a hero for getting signed off) is falling to bits. Doesn’t matter what your feelings are about Brexit, it was always impossible to implement because of the unavoidable truth that you either need a border on the island of a Ireland (which you can’t have) or in the Irish Sea (which you don’t want). They spent four years trying to pretend this wasn’t an issue, but it was always a herd of elephants in the room. It’s so unbelievably stupid. It’s like promising you can have a swimming pool in your garden without using any water. 5 1

Fightforever Posted 4 February 2022 Posted 4 February 2022 When you are a government like the Tories that has basically only been formed due to a rightwing alliance of sorts where the Tories have effectively swallowed all the other right wing parties' vote share. The number one thing you do not want to do is wake up the 33% of the population that is politically inactive because they usually when they do become active just vote to fix whatever short term problem made them care about the state of the nation. Making the utility bills double is going to hurt them badly here. Even the most politically inactive people will take notice at this rate. Which can only be a bad thing for the Tories. They are ****ing themselves over from every angle. If Labour lose the next GE then Starmer was worse than Corbyn no question.
