With this announcement, does it mean we’ve qualified for the Champions League for a 2nd time?

There have been multiple suggestions, which would put us top of the league and make us FA cup champions.... but none of them have happened. I can see fines/points deductions coming though.

I think there should be. But make it a significant one, don’t just deduct six points and think it’s enough. Take 20 off them, or even worse take 50 off them and let them scrap against relegation.

I was more thinking with these 6 clubs leaving, they will not play in the Champions League, therefore it’d be the top 4 slots not occupied by these clubs that would go to the Champions League.

At the moment, we’d be one of those.

Currently:

Champions League - Leicester, West Ham, Everton, Leeds

Europa League - Villa, Wolves

Conference - Should be the league cup winners, so no idea! Maybe next place down, therefore Palace?

And embarrassing when the clubs and UEFA come to some kind of agreement and the outraged Liverpool fans trundle along to their CL games, flags in hand.

I guess it's essentially the Europa League but does anyone look at a 'european' league without all them clubs and think it sounds great? Clubs without tonnes of plastic supporters, real atmospheres, lack of corporate tickets, genuine competition, down great trips and stadiums to visit etc.

We would fall into second place. West Ham go top once all results against as the greedy six are removed.

I would think that the Premier League, FA and UEFA will threaten to expel the clubs from their competition unless they back down.  That will be subject to legal challenge which will take a minimum of a year to sort out.  If, after all that, both sides are backed into taking their respective paths, then they will be removed from domestic competition/Uefa after the end of next season.

I would think that any punishment dished out by the respective bodies would be challenged, unless the sanctions are already written in the rule books.

Until they actually begin the super league, I'm not sure what they can actually do.

Personally I would love to see them all expelled from the premier league and have to apply to join the football league from League 2.

I just wouldn't allow them to play in any part of the national football pyramid. Let them play solely in the Super League.

Hope we avoid Bayern in the knockouts.

Would it not be the same as sacking someone for being disruptive as you cannot allow them to carry on being disruptive. Mind, i would be more than happy for them to leave the league and their names taken off them. That would be funny as fvck.

I don't know really.  It depends on the interpretation of the rules and what the discipline policy is.  I would think that there will be some sort of fall back clause that covers anything that isn't explicitly covered, but therein lies the problem - it would be open to challenge as it isn't written down.  It's all about interpretation.  I wouldn't be hugely surprised to see all of them start next season with a 50 point deduction or something.  The 6 will challenge it and then at the end of the season, they could have those points restored if they are successful.  And that will bring all sorts of problems on its own as it will relegate teams that didn't think they were relegated etc.

One thing is for certain, this whole situation is going to get very, very messy.

The financial reduction would be a blow but competitively I think it would be far better.

If the 6 teams were removed from the premier League, would only points gained against the remaining sides count for league position?

What would the order of the 14 sides look like, considering points won against the 'elite' as removed?

It's going to be a bit embarrassing after all this outrage when the PL and FA do nothing...

Still, someone has to qualify for champions league, if the big 6 actually occupied 1st to 6th place then it would go to the teams finishing 7th, 8th,9th,10th.
