The men who run the FA and the Chairmen and Executives of the 6 clubs all swim in the same dirty pond. Afew weeks back the FA weren't really disgusted at the actions of the 6 clubs maybe just slightly disappointed. The Executives at the FA still want to stay sweet with the clubs for future job vacancies in the board rooms of the 6 clubs.

So the punishment for trying to rip English football apart (£3.5m) is only 140 times worse than 'failing to control your players' and 'bringing the game into disrepute' by having a scuffle (£25,000).

Just as I thought would be the case when we got the fine at the end of the season.

Can see why a fine was decided as the appropriate approach. But really has to be significant enough to disrupt their transfer plans.

Was on the cards as soon as I saw Parish on TV though...too many of the 14 are just happy to feed off the scraps of the big 6.

It’s £20m each in the future too. lol

So that 20m will be more than paid for by the extra revenue they’ll receive by joining the super league.

the 30 point deduction? The reality is they’ll not likely get relegated anyway. So it’s a 1 season hiccup to jump on a money train.

I don’t know if the premier league realize what they have done but they’ve basically given them the green light to join the super league whenever they want to in the future.

A fine is nothing considering the money they've got. They can win it back next season finishing in the top 4 again.

Should have been a points deduction. Hit them where it would hurt more and make them start behind everyone else, by at least 10 points too.

They’re going to drop punishments completely now, aren’t they?

If the FA actually grew some balls, there'd have been pressure on UEFA to follow suit. As usual, being the greedy sheep

Expect some excessive  yet subtle talk from the greedy six owners about how British clubs are going to really suffer from lack of income over the next few years… about the exodus of young British talent going abroad.. about how the English national team will suffer… and then  another super league announcement in 3-4 years time..

Could be that uefa and the fa etc have been legally advised that they can’t make a punishment stick in court .... Not a surprise

What did Gary Neville save? Him and Carragher's revolution is pretty shit if you ask me.

Saved their own jobs at Sky

And that's the real quiz 👍

David Jones, Souness and all - appalled by it, weren't up for any action against them.

Relegation, significant points deductions, european bans, transfer bans, squad size reductions.  They were surely all on the table and I believe that most football fans would have accepted a couple of those options.

Instead, these six teams, with revenues that dwarf the rest of football, get to decide what their punishment is.  And guess what? It's the thing that causes them the least hassle, a small dent in their finances but allows them to continue business as usual in an attempt to close off the top six positions in the premier league.

Disgusting.  The FA and the Premier League (and UEFA) should bow their heads in shame that this has been allowed to be swept under the carpet on their watch.

...only if you believe they have integrity...it is not the case, so we shouldn't be surprised!!!

There needs to be a wide ranging review into the governance of football. Fans should expect fairness and transsparency in the administration of the game.

I thought it was £20m fine each but now realise it's between all six; this is a disgraceful drop in the ocean when you see the prize money for last season. Made even worse by being able to negotiate your own clubs punishment (surely the other 14 clubs should have been consulted.

The fine is nearly equivalent in monetary terms to only dropping two places but without the consequential impact on european football.

This whole charade is outrageous.

There is = The Fan Led Review Terms of reference for the fan-led review of football governance - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

The review is moving at pace Fan-led review: EFL fan reps provide evidence - Football Supporters' Association (thefsa.org.uk)

We present evidence with fellow Premier League Trusts/Fan Groups next Monday

Another petition reached the required number of signatures, so there is a debate in Parliament next Monday (this is totally separate to the Fan-Led Review meeting above)

We are giving evidence to the Petitions Committee later today

Pathetic.

The ire from supporters petered out and were now left with the real scandal and nobody can be that arsed.

Certainly not the case, see our posts above
