You know, it would be to the PL's advantage to deduct points from Chelski.  They'd get an extra team in the CL.

I suspect UEFA might have something to say about it though....

The only way it is possible to hurt or teach the ‘so called’ big clubs is a 3/6 points or even bigger points deduction, fining them has no effect on them whatsoever....

Slip the top officials at UEFA a brown envelope and that hurdle is resolved

...yes, it would seem premeditated and perhaps would not go down well at the the club which would have to give up their spot!!!

Chelsea have had an embargo previously and having a points deduction would not be something that would be deemed out of the blue, as it would be the next step due to any additional infringement of the rules.

To do so now would appear to be a cowardly act as Chelsea would suffer no loss, having qualified for the Champions League, and the additional problem would be us gaining from the situation, when we were also a part of the disturbance.

I'd argue a transfer embargo would hit them hard but personally its gotta be all three, a fine, points deduction and transfer embargo for up to two years.

Excessive but they've gotta go in hard on them. Actually make it a worthwhile punishment and deterrent, make an example, set a standard.

I don't know why I keep coming in this thread, winding myself up, saying there needs to be this and that punishment because we all know nothings going to happen.

I wouldn't be surprised if they get away with not even being fined. The fact I posted something the other day saying the Premier League was going to 'attempt' look into fining these clubs makes a mockery of it all. 'Attempt'? It's their competition, you don't need to attempt anything you do it and deal with consequences if they kick off and hit them even harder. Where's the governance?

I'm also disappointed how the other 14 clubs are sitting back quietly and letting them get away with it all - of course we don't know if thats true or not and whats being said but you certainly get that feeling. Not much came of the meeting the 14 clubs had a few weeks ago. I understand a few of those 14, the likes of ourselves are keeping quite as it'd be seen as a conflict of interest but on the other hand it arguably effects us more than most, the other 14 clubs should be going in hard on the greedy 6 and making it their worth.

Even with a points deduction I could see UEFA still allowing Chelsea to compete as Champions and excluding us based on our original finish because a points deduction is a PL punishment and nothing to do with the SL or UEFA so even with a points deduction I wouldn't get your hopes up.

. .that is how it will go!!!

The expediency of allowing both teams to compete would be a route for the F.A. not to fall foul of a big 6 club.

yeh deep inside I know that it won't happen. It's sad how morally corrupt and weak the authorities are. They love to make threats but when it comes to the crunch they always wimp out.

Chelsea are also in trouble with The FA for failing to control their players after our league game against them, they have already been warned a couple of times, we are in trouble as well but they were the aggressors, again a fine will be pointless...

It’s irrelevant - they’ve qualified as CL winners

they could have a fifty point deduction, be relegated and they will still be in pot one next season!

this whole point deduction thing feels a it cheap now. It’s never going to happen and we look a bit desperate promoting it given where we finished .........

I'd still be calling for it if we finished 17th. Given where we have finished I can see why it could be seen as a conflict of interests for that reason if we'd finished 17th i'd be calling for a points deduction even more so, as i've said i'm disappointed in the remaining 14 other clubs are not demanding more should be done I mentioned it the other day 14 outvotes 6, how the greedy 6 have so much say is beyond me.

A transfer embargo didn't work on Chelsea. They just waited until the next transfer window (last summer) and spent double (over 200 million)

We all know nothing will happen, and fines are virtually as good as nothing.

Football's played its hand. You can now threaten a breakaway league with no punishment. That'll really stop them trying again!!!!

They’ve signed up to a 100m fine if they try it again

not sure that’s enough of a deterrent with their initial payment being 300m!

.. only if you are lower league without the resources to reject any legal action threatened by the F.A.

We need to have a fund set aside that any team (not included the big 6) threatened by the government so as to fight any attempt to deduct points.

Only until all clubs are treated the same, will the loss of points be justified.

It’s too late, as usual they’ve dragged their heels and have done nothing, and will do nothing bar a poxy fine.

All of those teams involved should have been deducted 20 points immediately and banned from competing in Europe for a year. So what if Arsenal got relegated? Tough shit.

The fact they haven’t taken action now tells me they wont. It will be forgotten about.

Euefa, should wait right up to the last minute...

Let the Naughty boys, buy in the best players, spend millions on players & marketing..

Then in August, tell them their Superleague actions will see their participation in any European competition,

 suspended for 2 seasons....

Each of those clubs nations will be allowed....1 CL & 1 EL participants for that time.

Also EUEFA make a statement to those FAs, that they would also suggest ,their nations FA should also Hand out punishment to those

Clubs who decided to force the Super League ,upon us..Suggesting/recomending One season points deduction (15-20 pts) ....

If any still achieve European Qualifying position,

tough...!  they will Not be allowed to compete in Europe for those said 2 years.

Therefore next best placed honest club will qualify....

You only had to take last nights rimjob of two teams who’d signalled their wish to leave the very competition that they were playing for.

The media coverage never put anyone on the spot re the ESL albeit questioning in interviews  or the ‘analysis’. It should be a repeat topic week after week after week.

There was Cererin handing out the medals last night all full of smiles. Chuffed he had kept his position in tact.

UEFA apparently took the hump last night cos Jorge Mendes was admitted to their exclusive VIP areas. All snakes in the same room and they don’t like it when another snake pops in who doesn’t have to funnel anything back to UEFA
