"Sportsmail understands that a fine is likely but that there have been occasionally heated discussions over the final figure, which will be millions, and where the money should go."

"Sources have disclosed that the six — Manchester City, Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham — wanted a penalty similar to that handed down by UEFA last month."

****ing ridiculous. You can't choose your own penalty.

Liverpool and Utd have been in control of their own penalty allocations for a couple of years now

It should be £200m fine or 30 point deduction... preferably both

All these Liverpool fans celebrating being in CL and they didn’t even want to be in it.

If the fine is made to be paid instantly, then it could have an impact on some clubs transfer moves. And by some I mean The irrelevant 2 of Spurs and Arsenal.

£3.5m wouldn’t even affect Brentford’s transfer moves.

This is more akin to a bribe for the PL to shut up and move on than a punishment. A bribe in clear day in front of the police station. Absolutely inevitable result really.

Wait is it £20m between the 6 of them?

I knew the premier League would bottle it  with the punishment a couple of Million yet a smaller club got docked points for something less trivial, absolutely disgraceful and yet again show s how the Premier League look after those old Top 6 mercenaries trying to disrupt & disrespect a footballing organisation struggling at its lower levels with clubs struggling to survive from Covid.

I hope the millions in fines goes towards those lower league clubs struggling and not in the premier League coffers !!

The clubs were guilty of bringing the game into disrepute

They signed up to another tournament which is contrary to one of the prem league rule but there is no precedent for this

The punishment has to be able to stand up at CAS - otherwise it’s a waste of time

placing specific sanctions on them if they try it again works - I guess this should have been done before - hindsight ….

just wanting them to be punished loads is understandable but not realistic

Just over 3m each. Joke.

What an absolute joke.  There should now be Parliamentry interference to sort this out and every corrupt willy puller involved in that decision needs to be removed form any position of power in the PL.

Absolutely sickening and yet another nail in the coffin of football.  As if they give 2 ****s about the future £20m fine.  I think I am about done with football.  I may come back once it becomes about supporting my team again rather than the tv biliions!

As expected, an utterly irrelevant amount to make any difference.

If you squint, I think you can just make out Roman with his tail well and truly between his legs, on his £1B yacht.

Well all those fan disrupting games really got the message across, the PL were certainly listening.
