So, we have made a bid of 17 million and it’s been turned down with them rumoured to want 30 million. Player also rumoured to want to stay in the same league which can’t be true, so basically we offer £25 million and he’s ours?

£17 million is a ridiculous offer, Man Utd have been quoted £40 million for Trippier and he is 30 if the rags are to be believed.

That's the 'English' premium though.

But despite all that I don't think Gosens is a goer anyways. If we can convince him, great, but I'm doubtful. Trying really hard to think of an Italian that's come to England and actually gone on to do well.

There was a Leicester manager that did quite well, Claudio something or other...

I leaving it there unedited as a lesson to others.

We all do it. I jump around like a mad thing in the transfer threads - never really have a clue which one  I’m in ….. and the comments in there certainly don’t make it obvious! 😂

Whilst you acknowledge the brainfart in name is the statement still true for Italians not making it in England as I believe more have made it here than British in Italy.
Zola, Vialli, Balotelli, Di Matteo, Di Canio, Carbone, Ravenelli, Cudicini, Mancini, Jorginho, Pelle amongst others and whilst Cambiasso isn’t Italian he spent almost his entire playing career in Italy and he wasn’t of a bad standard either.

Ok, I should have caveated that within the last 10 years. Aside from Jorginho, which again has slipped my dullard brain, there does seem to be a recent enthusiasm for Italians to stay home.

His value would have gone up by 10m had that goal stood. Unlucky not to score! Love the attitude to get onto the end of that cross.

Ha on my commentary, they just referred to the Tielemans FA Cup final goal because of the accidental handball! If that's not a sign to get the Goose in, then I don't know what is!

This died when we finished fifth surely?

I assume there's been no credible indication we're still pursuing?

It's just Bertrand.
