Just doing my pre-match checks:-
Hidden sharp objects ✅

Secured objects that could be thrown at TV, (candles, puppies, small children etc) ✅

Consumed several large drams of single malt to take edge off anxiety ✅

Checked FT a million times for SFEs team leak ✅ 

Serious ADs at side of bed to help me sleep if it all goes wrong ✅

 

All pretty basic end-of-season stuff 👍. Enjoy one and all.

I worry a bit that they (Newcastle) are unlikely to be quite as poor as they have been, a reaction of sorts is on the cards, but even that shouldn't be enough if we're really at it. Start with the same intensity as the West Brom game and don't let them get going at all. They may be set up for a point, it sounds obvious but as ever the first goal is vital, the earlier the better.

I agree.

 

It might sound counter-intuitive but I think we're more likely to get results in our last three if we win tonight, than if we don't.

Same as others this does feel like must win to me.  Anything else and we will likely need a win from Chelsea, Man U or Spurs which is a tough ask albeit not impossible.

 

Get the win tonight and we need what, a draw from them three to see us in to the champions league?  

 

I think we will win tonight, surely we have too much for Newcastle.  The only worry is that we start slow these days and rarely come out of the blocks until we've given a lead away.  And I worry that if we go one down tonight, we might capitulate due to pressure.

We should win, yes. There have been quite a few games this season that we should have won, but did not. 
 

Newcastle or anyone else, we have to play our best, take our chances and concentrate. We can do it obviously.  No game is a foregone conclusion.

If we start off with a low tempo and very little intensity, I am going to be frightfully annoyed and slit my wrists.  This 'we were tired and lacked tempo' bollox is not something I want to be hearing in the PM cuddle up with BR.
