Finally moving the Kop?

The Football Club has also written directly to relevant Season Ticket Holders regarding a consolidation of the Family Stand. This follows input from our Fans Consultative Committee, including Family Stand attendees, around the natural maturation of existing Season Ticket Holders in that area and the subsequent increase in requirement for Adult capacity in the stadium. A reconfiguration of the North Stand enables us to service the needs of our maturing Season Ticket Holder base, while protecting the integrity of the Family Enclosure and providing a family-centric experience to those that use it.

I've just mentioned it in the renewal thread. Interesting read.

I don't think is moving the Kop though. I read it as those kids, from the family area, now older and just not moving area?

I guess they will probably half the size of it which to be fair makes sense. Put them on the side near the restaurant and open up the other half next to the away fans.

If they're swapping the Kop and the family stand then what the actual **** will we be able to joke about on here going forward!?

They aren't, just two blocks being removed from the family stand and changed to general sale. Too many kids growing out of the family stand and no new ones coming in because it's hard to get a ST.

AFCON will never let us down.

Pretty good reason to extend the ground.

If they want to "reconfigure" the North Stand, they should re-allocate 300 or so seats from the away allocation, to home fans.

I think we give about 3300 tickets to away fans for Premier League games, which is 300 more than we have to.   Several other clubs give us 3000.

Ok, they'd need to a bit of juggling about and move a few seats.   So what?

Opportunity for UnionFS to relocate along the bottom 2 blocks for cup games/big games to trial it if it's general admission?

I've thought this for a long time. Despite having an average size PL ground we seem to have one of the most generous away allocations.

My kids are at school (old dad young kids)... I got the season tickets years back.

But very few of their friends have any chance of seeing Leicester. I know of none

Last week I went to the cup final with fans with a mean age of over 50.

This is a problem for the club ... where are the fans of the future?

We are short of seats... but reducing the space for the family enclosure is short sighted

(I have no personal inventive as I dont sit there)

I used to be on the FCC and thought Susan Whelan grasped this point.

I'm sure I saw a post from someone on here saying they had to move out of P1/P2 becasue of this, anyone else in that situation?

Yes, I sit in P1 and I have to move my seats to stay in the family stands new area of just P2 & P3 (It's P & P1 that are no longer family stand).

I can keep my seats if I want but this won't be a family area so not suitable for my kids and it will also be more expensive too.

I've sat there for a number of years so it is very disappointing. There are a few of us in the group so I'm hoping I can get a similar position in the new area, we've also made lots of friends who sit around us which will be lost as well.

I can see why they've done it but I also hope this means an expansion is not too far away because this does not help the next generation of fans being able to attend.

As a member wanting to get a season ticket and with a decent number of priority points, I strongly support this argument!

Its the way the stand is set up with shutters/turnstiles etc

The away end minus M1 is less than 3000 and plus M1 is more than 3000.

Only the sky six + Everton, Villa, Leeds, West Ham and Newcastle ever sell out here tbf.

West Ham and Newcastle haven’t sold out every time too

Presumably there's ways round it though as sometimes they sell unsold away tickets to home fans.

It’s not that easy. The segregation is the biggest issue surrounding it with also the concourses not clashing.

Also, you’re supposed to give 10% if the stadium is over 30,000 capacity.

We are in P1 and have to make the decision to either move to P2/P3 or keep our seats in the now non-family section at £30ish more per seat per season - not that much!

Hopefully there are 5 decent seats in P2 to possibly move to as our P1 seats are spot on behind the goal.  At least we have options and understand why they have to do it.  Expansion required of course but it has to be timed right.

Having attended yesterday I will say we have not used the time off well at all to work on the concourse, toilets and other areas.  It's an open goal for me to improve these and there is little to no COVID safe precautions put in other than a few posters on the walls!

Guess you then have the issues of, if we're redoing the ground and potentially building etc. Why spend money when plans aren't finalised on if an area will be renovated or not?
