No sign of Wanya Marca training with the 1st team this week, hope he's not injures again. Absolutely no reason for Ewing to be ahead of him in the pecking order for a sub spot with Braybrooke also around.

Anyone know what Brendan sees in Ewing? Not to discredit the lad but of all the academy midfielders we have he doesn’t come across as the standout to be in and around the first team.

I would say he deserves to be in first team training along with the others who have this season, not near starting but enough to be on the very edge of the squad, he has been good this season

Strange he only has 1 kid on the bench when he could have 4 more

Ewing is similar to KDH.. Lots of endeavour, puts himself about on the pitch and has good technical ability. He is also decent on set pieces.

I agree he's not our most talented midfielder in the academy, but hard work always beats talent :).

we named 8 of a possible 12 subs against Randers, why not fill the bench up, especially at home when the academy is right there, did they have a game as well?

They have a game on Monday. I suspect the club sometimes reduce their risk with covid currently.

The 18s have the Youth Cup next week, so you’d expect the likes of Alves to stay in and around that squad for the forthcoming week

Really? Several of them trained with the 1st team all week.

Maybe a bit of a message form Rodgers to the powers above about the transfer budget for next season.

Look I can't even fill a bench

Would not be the first manager to do it.

Surely filling it with youngsters is sending the same message

I suspect the board are also extremely tired of the persistent injuries. Why waste more money on players he'll injure?

No, because he can say then say they aren't ready for the bench.

There must be a reason we didn't fill the bench.

I think they are more balanced then the average City fan, did Liverpool's think the same about Klopp last season?

Sadly I think we could gave Alves or braybrooke a few minutes last night.

Baffled at putting Ewing on the bench over Braybrooke last night. Especially considering Braybrooke trained all week too. Even more baffled at not giving him his debut at 4-1 up when Maddison went off.

Our injuries are more severe, more persistent and are showing absolutely no signs of dissipating.

For a lad who is being very strongly courted by Bundesliga clubs and still hasn't signed the long term deal we want him to, you'd think there'd be a bit of a common goal to get that across the line.

Do you know which Bundesliga clubs?

Dortmund scouts been at several of our U23 games this season, but I think it was Leipzig that wanted him. I think he's staying but you'd have thought given how good is he and how bad our injuries have been that he'd have got more selections on the bench and got on once or twice.

Rodgers is better than some at bringing through players but Braybrooke and Alves are our two most prized assets and they should be involved above very limited players like Ewing.

Some of it just luck Maddison, Soyuncu last night

The only real issues I have are Vardy and Justin, who were over used, and Evans who was rushed back.

Brendan took Tavares out once they realised he wasn’t signing the contract. Makes you wonder whether there’s something similar going on here with him not having his debut yet.

Is a double edged sword.

Play them and they do well they are even more in the shop window, don't play them do they get frustrated at the lack of opportunities

I maybe wrong, but many others share the same view and I'm convinced something will be publicly said about it in the coming months but the attitude to conditioning, player recovery and fitness is what's making it very easy for us to pick up injury after injury.

We're vulnerable, can't stand up to the rigours of a verynohysical game and easy to hide behind freak injuries.

If you keep your house in bad condition and then a storm rips through and takes the roof off and causes damp, could it have been forseen? Could you have planned better for it and ensured your house was protected as much as possible? If your house gets taken apart every time there's a storm then st some point you have to ask what on earth aren't you doing to prevent this destruction before you move (move on from Todgers)
