Realise I might be the only one interested in solving this, but seems Hilaire was at Palace. Can’t find the game. Anyone remember it? It stood out for supposedly being the MOTD game of the day. But we were losing and “something” happened to the power to the MOTD truck, which stopped said coverage. Ring any bells with anyone ?

I remember this one. Think it was John Chedozie who scored a couple, one being a real banger.

As I recall, it was shelved from MOTD because the Orient players had shirt sponsorship on (then in its infancy) and the BBC wouldn't show it because it breached their advertising rules.

Shame, as it was a great game, and being on the telly was a big deal back then.

Told you memory played tricks! In my head it was Hilaire - who I don’t think ever played for Orient!!!  😂

Mine did too - remembered the game,  but until you said I thought the opposition was Notts County.

One that sticks out for me was back in 1992, Leicester beating Middlesboro 2-1, there goal was a cracker from Jamie Pollock, cannot do the link, so if somebody could kindly do it that would be great.

One of the first night matches I went to.

Filbert Street maybe late 90s. Newcastle, free kick, absolute screamer. Bold guy, scsndanavian I think, no idea what his name was or result of the game, I'd only have been maybe just shy of my teens (could be a few years out either way). Was the kop end, I was in the family.l stand so was up the other end, anybody able to clarify the goal?

You sure it was Newcastle? Can't remember them scoring a free kick against us. Gunnlaugsson scored for us against them at Filbert Street.

Hmm don't think this happened. I remember them beating us 2-1 with a Shearer and Ferguson goal each and then 1-1 the next season with Speed scoring.

Sigurdsson a few seasons back for Everton did this Cruyff turn past one of our players (Maddison I think) and hits this absolute belter in the top corner from 30 yards. I was right behind it in the ground and applauded it. I got some funny looks but sometimes you just have to appreciate witnessing quality

I was going to suggest that as well. You can tell he knew exactly what he was going to do before he did it.

I could be wildly wrong. Gunnlaugsson scoring against them, if it was a belter of a free kick at the kop end, could well be it.

That kompany goal for mancity to win the league was spectacular

Plus, the fact it denied Liverpool the title made it more than acceptable.

Gunnlaugsson scored a free kick in this game at the kop end for us lol

Type Gunnlaugsson v Newcastle into google and the goal comes up

Dennis Bergkamp 3rd goal for the  hat trick in the 3-3 game. The goal is probably the greatest in premier league history. Best player I’ve ever seen at filbert st.

Hear hear. The other two goals in that hat trick but pretty decent as well. Rolls Royce of a player. Pure class.

Not quite Di Maria or Bergkamp, but I remember two Huddersfield screamers at our place
