Yes...Coming 3rd or 4th in your own league, then winning the CL, just seems wrong to me..

We talk about how some devalued our own FA.cup....but when Champions League included League positions of 2-4th to qualify, that was

the biggest Trophy devaluation....ever...

Champions have earnt the right Not to get caught up in Fixture congestions. Playing the Elite only, of the Previous season...!

Then..have the EL for Top 2-4, and conference for 5-6th.(also League cup winners)

plus bring back  Cup-winners European cup**...

Manutd/L'pool/Chelsea have not earnt the right to Play in the CL this year, only Mancity have qualified in my mind for " Champions" league

In many ways...the CL has become the Superleague for the traditional-elite, with the odd 20yr  irritant story like Leicesters..

I would like to go a little backwards, to Jump far foward...Respect again the True individual champions, by having only Champions in the CL..!!

** with another twist..maybe, just maybe put also cup-winners in den CL, because they are Champions of their  nations cup..

2nd..3rd, 4th, devalues the CL..!

....just the way I see it as well....!!!

Try telling the Liverpool supporters having won it without winning their league. Perhaps as a purist, the reality of getting the big boys group together was the reason for the change to top 4 getting the Champions League places.

There are 2 distinct points I want to make about why I'd prefer the CL over the PL anyday.

1. Go back 5 seasons, and yes you could say that these clubs have money and spend big etc, but the PL winners over the last 5 years are Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea and us (👏).

Man City - invested so much in infrastructure and its hard for me looking at ours and theirs figuring which one is the best in terms of training grounds. However, they don't make £100m signings as a club as other do (y'anited).

Liverpool, Investment in traning extension is their but I'm not a fan if their training ground. However, they too don't make £100m signings.

Chelsea, infrastructure could be refurbed but this club out of the last years 5 winners spends more cash in order to buy trophies (and by doing so it backfires more often for them). Plus they poached Kante straight away so that's the ONLY reason why they won the leugue that season.

2. If it were me I'd throw the coefficient rankings out of the window and start again.

There are a lot of country's in the CL with piss poor leagues who have entry level passes to the group phase. However a lot of these clubs, and I mean a lot, couldn't compete in the top of the championship.

For me I'm looking for equality. Equality for me is that we have the best leugue in the world and attract more worldwide TV revenues that and other leugue.

One of my considerations lately is that for example Chelsea finished 4th one season and qualified for the group stages which they will, then if they don't get through to a certain part of the tournament I.e. last 32/16 for a season or 2, then make them have to aim for a place higher in the PL for the next season I.e  P3. If they don't meet that then they drop to P5 (caveat they finish 4th PL wise they stay 4th)

As I see it you have a lot of Eastern and Southern Eastern countries with poor teams (which effectively help teams like Man City to progress through the tournament even quicker)

In summary we have won the PL, but I doubt we will get the number of chances to win the CL unless there is change. Any one with any better ideas?

Is the Champions League on normal telly tonight?

The FA Cup final got the highest TV viewing figures for a match this season (and nearly a million more than last season). Not sure if that will be eclipsed tonight?

I don't think it is? Not on "normal" tv anyhow. BT Sport or free on their YouTube channel in previous years I think?

My order hasn't change and probably won't ever.

Premier League - We've won it but even the best willed pundits consider it a one off, a miracle, won't happen again. Well sticking it to them and the "big clubs" again would be incredible. The more we win stuff like this the less they can ignore or dismiss us. It's the culmination of 38 games, a marathon of a season in a league that isn't a flat playing field. It's the thing I'm most invested in day to day, with so many moving parts and ups and downs.

Charity Shield (this year otherwise it's at the bottom) - It's a piece of silverware that we can still win. One game. So I want to win it.

FA Cup - because it's the biggest domestic cup competition and I'm tired of pandering to this CL or nothing BS. Prestige is based on how we value something and I'm not giving up on that value based on history and this countries relationship to it and not some financially backed Super-League-lite. When I first supported Leicester as a kid I remember watching the FA cup final and asking have we won it. From that moment I wanted us to win it so bad.

Champions League - And it's not really about winning the thing tbh. Just the ability to look into the shocked faces of Chelsea, ManU, Liverpool fans who hold this as some pinnacle of football elite. As this has become some metric of status. ManC fans are currently wetting themselves over this thing and the fans of other "big clubs" anxiously hoping they don't make it because it's still something they can hold over them.

I Dont see the  "others" as poor..They are just at Another level, but they too have earnt the right to compete, like some, playing at the higher level

has created & pulled a few Teams onto that higher level....

Arent your thoughts just as bad as the pro- Superleague pushers...??

Not at all. It's finding a medium across the board and a system that goes with it but at the same time has a braking mechanism to mix things up.

That's literally the argument for the SL. You want to block admittance to the CL for teams because they're from leagues not as financially wealthy as the PL?

Ignoring that's a statement you can't really qualify because they don't, so what? They're still the top teams of their leagues. The fact we get four teams to play in the CL is a joke tbh. Personally I think it should be two (tops) with maybe the winner of the FA cups (it might give people more desire to win it since everything's seemingly about the Cf'ngL).

Maybe I'm misunderstanding but it strikes me your argument is we're not going to win top 4 any time soon so somebody should just let us in the CL because Eastern European leagues/clubs are under-funded and a bit crap. Not lets address why there's such a lack of equality and corruption not only within our own league but also across Europe. Since 2005 only we have been able to break into the CL places with the rest taken up by the "big 6". Since the start of the PL (1992) only us and Blackburn Rovers have won it out of the "big 6" (with Liverpool only winning it once). ManC wins it after being bought out by a dubious oil sheik and a member of the Abu Dhabi royal family. Chelsea gets bought by a billionaire corrupt Russian Oligarch.

Lets get European trophies next. It's unlikely - but so was everything we've done so far. Nothing's impossible with us.

Europa League is the one we haven't done and the one I'd most like us to win next season.

Completely agree! Would love to see Rodgers stick out a full strength 11 in every match in the europa league and have a real go at winning it

If we win the Europa League I will retire from Leicester City fandom and go live in Botswana and take up birdwatching as a hobby.

No changes to your present situation then?

For me EPL is the best.

But id love to win a champions league (not happening)

Europa would likely be next followed by FA cup.

Doing the double over Arsenal and Spurs in the same season would be bigger than the league cup for me haha.

Anything else after that great effort lads lol

Now we have won them, think.they drop down a space each

Champions League

Premier League (down 1 places)

Europa Cup

Top 4 Premier League

FA Cup (down 2 places)

World Club Cup

League Cup

U23 winning that random trophy against the league 1 & 2 teams

Super Cup

Charity Shield

Europa conference

Avoid relegation is actually top of the list, but I'm taking that as given for now.
