As an antidote to @ozleicesters thread about what annoys you about you, what pleases you about you?

What are your strengths? What are you brilliant at? What traits/preferences are you proud of? What makes you unique?

This isn't a thread to boast (and in typical British fashion we don't like to shout about what we're good at) but genuinely interested in what things folk are pleased about in themselves.

Wanting to know more about science, but more importantly wanting other people to know more about science through narrative, and valuing the future enough that I believe it worth the communication.

Probably the way I've bounced back from major surgery and various operations/procedures since '04

The whole experience has changed my outlook and perspective on life and I'd like to think I'm more empathetic, patient, and understanding as a result. I definitely count my blessings more and try to live for the moment now.

I still suffer from Cronhs disease and various related ailments, but I try not to let it affect my life and I always remind myself that there's many, many people worse off than me.

And I'm bloody good at my job if I'm honest :)

My brother suffers from Crohns disease and i know how much he struggles like only being able to eat certain things in case of a flair up and being on meds for life. I tip my hat to you having to have that in your life and not let it affect you :appl:

Mine too, I don’t have any.

Seriously I think it’s great to avoid having kids if that’s not your thing. I hate people who produce kids then show no desire to raise them or be interested in raising them.

so hats off to you!

If I had them It wouldn’t be biologically anyway. Sometimes I do think it would be good to have kids but im

probably too selfish and want to do things in my life that wouldn’t be possible with kids. Mainly sleep.

I'd have to say having the bottle to give up everything in the UK to move abroad in the middle of the pandemic and the ongoing post Brexit uncertainty. Or maybe it was stupidity, and therefore belongs in the other thread lol

I have great feet !

This is so great and interesting (no im not a fetishist :) )... given how often our society damages people, particularly women, about their appearance I'm intrigued as to what makes your feet great?

To be honest... almost every part of us is great, but most of us fail to recognise or acknowledge it..(mostly imho) because our media etc teaches us what is great and then sets us up to chase irrelevant and impossible physical goals, maybe this has not happened with feet?

Alternately of course you could be Leo Messi or Sam Kerr and you just mean that your feet are sporting wise.. incredible.
