Heights never used to have a fear of them but now I do, feel as though if I was on the edge of something really high that I'll somehow just end up going off the edge lol

Obviously parents dying that's a bit deep though..

Think that's the main ones

Do you feel like you might suddenly just jump off the edge? I'm scared that the urge to throw myself off might suddenly take me over, it's completely irrational lol

I hate those camera shots suddenly from the sky on TV too, there should be some kind of warning! Like you, though, heights never bothered me until I was an adult

Honestly, death. I mean isn't that everyone's? Flying as well but that's connected to the whole death thing I guess.

Yep, this. Pretty much all the fears I have come down to thanatophobia when boiled down.

There are many things worse than death.

Given we can't communicate with the dead I'm not sure about that.

For me death is the worst case scenario for a living being by definition (due to the finality of it) and that has a big effect on my worldview, but that's just my take.

Nothing beat the fear that Nigel might start Vardy and Drinkwater against Middlesbrough in the opening game of the season.

Speak for yourself, I still remember Peter Taylor.

Or maybe that was just annoyance/resigned acceptance after a while.

surely you only fear prison if you’ve been a naughty boy….

I’ve heard Izzy bears a striking similarity to Britney Spears in her Baby Hit Me One More Time era

This intrigues me.

Death holds no fear for me... the way of death or the suffering of those left behind (yes i AM that good :) ) concern me.. but my own death is of zero concern. hmmmmmm what does this say about us all i wonder :)

Edit several hours later... i just read about this...

Puppy pregnancy syndrome is a psychosomatic illness in humans brought on by mass hysteria.

The syndrome is thought to be localized to villages in several states of India, including West Bengal, Assam, Bihar, Jharkhand, Orissa, and Chhattisgarh, and has been reported by tens of thousands of individuals.

People suffering from this condition believe that shortly after being bitten by a dog, puppies are conceived within their abdomen.[1] This is said to be especially likely if the dog is sexually excited at the time of the attack....It is believed that the victims will eventually die – especially men, who will give birth to their puppies through the penis.

I used to be terrible but have gotten better over time, to the point that I'm possibly the most relaxed dude on the plane.

I don't belive all that guff about fainting or lungs exploding or velocity change or cold killing you in milliseconds and you wouldn't know a thing about it. MH70 in Ukraine found a passenger with his/her oxygen mask on. And Lockerbie, I think.

There's something rather poignant but also uplifting about the human spirit and determination to survive that, as you plummet 500mph towards the ground with the plane disintegrating around you, you hope donning a mask might save you. Personally, I'd be trying to grab some champagne from business.

Anyways, happy flying!

Yep, that’s really helped me combat my fear.

I've always thought I didn't fear anything really (Death happens to everyone, spiders are tiny and generally harmless, I'm already physically disabled so I don't have that to worry about as much as some might) but seeing this thread pop up last night got me thinking...

This has the potential to cause me quite a bit of embarrassment, but stick with me on it:

I'm 33 years old and I've been with my wife since I was 17. We both lost our virginity to eachother and are both the only person eachother has been with - something I'm quite proud of. But obviously that means neither of us really have any idea if we're actually any good in bed because we have no other experiences to compare eachother to. Don't get me wrong, I've never had any complaints from her, but again, she has no yardstick to compare me to. I think my biggest fear is that if for whatever reason things ended between the 2 of us, the idea of being with another woman and having to be intimate with her absolutely terrifies me incase I really have no idea what I'm doing!

I know that compared to some of the other fears you guys are posting, this probably seems rather trivial, but still, it's something that does play on my mind every now and then

I think that's lovely.

My wife was the local bike before I met her and I'm always thinking about how I 'measure up' to the hundreds she had before me.

Consider yourself lucky

Is her name Marge ( old one there  as in easy to spread)
