Apologies if that has been posted already, but I thought it may be worth sharing - more in hope than expectation that a deal could be done. I don’t mind Perez too much, but if we could recoup £23/£25m and spend that on Beradi that would be a deal worth doing.

Having said that, this is probably just another case of a low level journalist putting a former manager with a former player and assuming that the manager would want to resign him. Heaven knows we’re linked with every Celtic player going and yet not one has signed.

Last week he was saying he could see Teilemans wearing a Liverpool shirt next season, yeah maybe when he's washing his car.

If he goes we only have Maddison as a forward sitting playmaker. I think if this is true then we must be getting an attractive RW player and Maddison will sit in the no.10 role.

I hope he stays and leads us to the finals of the Champions League in two years.  Then purposely scores an own goal, and runs around the LC supporters end giving everyone the finger, while laughing his butt off.

If I told you I'd shagged the queen it would have the same amount of truth in it.

There's nothing wrong with hoping the club can recoup some money selling a guy whose on-field contributions have been pretty disappointing, especially when the club has some clear, gaping holes than need to be filled.  You can paint everyone with the same brush and call it hating, but it's just smart business to sell him if Everton (or anyone) is willing to give you a decent price.

We are allowed to criticise players without being called bully’s or nasty. I don’t hate Perez, I don’t wish him bad luck or want him to be injured. I just don’t think he’s good enough for a team with serious CL aspirations. That’s why he’d fit in quite well at Everton.

We live in a society now where we’re not allowed to criticise at all and it’s ridiculous. He won’t be reading this and even if he is I’m sure he will know that 3 goal contributions in a team that finished 5th isn’t good enough.

I mean, he's average.

Yes, his numbers are woeful, but there's more to his game than some on here suggest.

If he stays then fine, he's another option. If he goes for a decent price then I'm confident we could replace him with a better quality option.

Playmaker actually implies he can get his head up and make a pass rather than seeing the pass, second guess himself then easily get dispossessed after holding onto the ball for too long. He has no value in a squad competing for top 4 and the europa league.

If we can replace with better than absolutely sell him on.

He's nowhere near the required level Imo.

Considering that part of the problem is that Rodgers uses him at the expense of players who would likely contribute more, you could argue even without a replacement it's addition by subtraction.

Another transfer rumour based on the opinion of a former player. I'm surprised the Mercury didn't refer to Marcus Bent as a former club legend after making 55 appearances for Everton.

Had we paid 10/15m for him he would not have been such a bad buy.

But 30m for a team looking for CL he's not good enough. He's at best a mid table player.

No that's not hate it's an honest opinion. We've spent a damn site less than that and got players that can perform at our level and above it. Mahrez and Kante spring straight to mind.

That's probably what people expect a whole lot more from him.

He is probably the only "first teamer" I would sell this summer.

Offers something a little different with his work rate and defending from the front, but otherwise doesn't offer enough for a top 5 team.

Playing out wide has certainly not helped him though and if he stays (likely), I hope he is only ever used (as back-up) in the no.10 role
