If we are going with more of a 4-2-3-1 as opposed to a 4-3-3, we don't really have an alternative no.10 to Maddison - Praet is not really liked by Rodgers in that position and Sowah will probably be played wide due to a shortage of wingers. If we had the money we'd probably let Perez go and spend on a young player in that position. But we don't, and we won't have the interest in Perez this summer either. So he stays. 1 1

He works better in a 352 than Maddison (at least unless maddison seriously improves his tactical awareness in this role). We obviously are going to keep JM, so if we need to switch to 352 than he is going to be needed. I just dont want any big chances falling to him. I think if you asked Vardy or Kel in private who they preferred to play in this system with, he'd be the answer. 1

It only seems to be when he gets binned for a few games, comes back in puts a bit more effort in and then slowly declines again. He has not justified the £30m spent on him, and there’s better out there for less. If the price is right sell him on and out the money into a right sided player. 2

When we had so many injuries and he was one or the first back in training, I was very happy. He may not be the best player but he works hard and tries hard. Most importantly he's happy to come of the bench and I know for sure I wasn't the only one who prefered him behind Vardy and Kel during the latter parts of the season. For sure 30m was a lot and out of the blue but I wouldn't really want him to go unless we got 15-20m but then who do we get that will stay on the bench? Kdh? Who could be in the Championship getting better. Queue the thumbs down! 5
