Wow that was desperately unlucky for Pereira. And then McIlroy just misses his  putt too.

Murikawa and Pan to go...

Wow. Love that. Mens high jump gold is shared!

Italy and Qatar decide to share the gold. Emotional scenes after they were offered a 'jump off'. Looks like the Qatari guy said he's happy to share it.

It was offered to them so must have been :dunno:.

I don't get why it can't be shared. Inseparable during the competition itself and they were offered a jump-off. Clearly they're happy with sharing it :)

Happy for de Grasse getting the Bronze. Was always going to be tough being in Lane 9. Great acceleration to finish third!

Great that they waited til the half of the Notts/Derby match to run it too! 😁

That was the most surreal 100m final. I can't put my finger on why, it almost looked slow.

I just think it's Jacob's gait, he doesn't look fast, he's got almost a lethargic style.

Yesssss DeGrasse. He had the shittiest start of the lot and somehow pulled off bronze. If he had a good start he would have won the gold man.

Obviously it is allowed because it’s happened, I’m saying should it be ?

it’s elite level sport not a school sports day, personally don’t get why they would want to share it

The woman interviewing Hughes then... she might as well have just told him how much he's f****d his whole life up. Zero empathy lol

She's been horrific every day, especially when dealing with the athletes that are visibly upset

Think she was a sprinter for GB and won a medal at the 2008 games (I think)

She should know better than to ask stupid questions after an athlete has just made a massive feck up.

The Golf is dramatically nerve-racking

I definitely wasn’t planning to stay up til 3:15 am to watch it  :D   But so compelling!  Definitely the type of pressure you only see in a major.

Surely the guys at this level go in to each tournament just thinking, it’s their job.  (And this one half a world away, with no purse.)  But they showed the Olympics, once you get there, is much more than just another week on the job.

Just those few dozen marshals clustering around each green were enough to remind Matsuyama  -- a great player -- that he was carrying the weight of his country on home soil.  And he cracked.

There’s your “fifth major”.  Who'd have thought.
