Some controversy about Denmark in the cycling...

TBH Team GB pulled out all the aerodynamic stops involving uniform and helmet design to dominate at London 2012 so I'm not entirely sure we can complain about other teams looking at that too.

Absolutely no chill from the Germans. Brutal.

Is there anything particularly different about this velodrome? I assume all conditions are near identical on modern tracks, some of these new records aren't even close.

Apparently the track is made with some extra special Siberian wood that is meant to make it an even faster track. I am sure in years to come there will always be improvements, be it track, bike or uniform.

What to stop ALL the teams doing this.

Cant see tape giving THAT much advantage  to be honest.

If it is then GB should have done it.

Hardly groundbreaking is it

The rules say that you can’t have anything on your skin unless it’s for injury. Also there’s some controversy over the Danish teams vests as the equipment they wear have to be available to the public to buy and it was not.

LOL!

What so I can go out and buy one of them bikes???

You really think the UCi or Olympic committee wouldnt have said something about The Whole team walking out with plasters on their shins of it would make such a difference?

Can the cyclists wear mega tight lycra leggings to cover all their legs instead of just the shins???

The Danish team asked the UCI six hours before the event and got the green light for the tape. Team GB complains so UCI gives Denmark a warning, telling them not to use it. The vests they are wearing are from last years World Championship, again because Team GB complained. I think it's a bit gross that the British media are trying to get the Danish team disqualified for the collision as well.
Fact is, this Danish quartet has dominated for more than two years and were on course to set another world record. Feels like some serious sour grapes from Team GB.

Yes you can believe it or not. If you have a spare 25k! They have to be for sale to stop teams from winning purely through having superior technology ie 2012

Not bad is it!

I don’t know what the age range is for this event but she could compete for a while.

There seem to be a lot of teenagers competing in this. Maybe it is suited for the younger ages and hard to compete once late 20s and beyond. Snowboarding is similar I think.

Feel for Jason Kenny, doesn't have that explosive power anymore, how easily he lost the wheel yesterday tells its own story.

Can see a retirement coming at the end of this.

What a legend though

Complete lack of fear, comes from falling a lot when you are small and not noticing it hurts a lot more the bigger you get!  I guess they all come to a nasty fall at some point.  Unless like an old mate of mine you are still skating Freestyle at 50.  He was world number 4 at one point.  Not very far to fall on a flat surface you see :)
