It was 4X400 I’m pretty sure it’s the first time they’ve introduced it. There’s a similar event in the swimming as well which GB will probably win today.

Thanks, I'll keep an eye out. Difficult to watch with the time difference. I'd usually stay up and make more of an effort, but not easy when you drive for a living.

Yeah I can relate to that. During the week anything between about 1am and 7/8am just doesn’t exist for me. I tend to just watch the bbc coverage in the afternoon where they show the highlights and try and not pick up any spoilers in the news. It’ll be good next time when it’s in France as we haven’t had an olympics in a convenient time zone since London!

I tend to hear the medal count on the radio when I'm in the van, but watch the highlights when I get home.

Shame the BBC coverage has been scaled back though, that does take some shine off it in my opinion. Nowhere near what we're used to.

Looking forward to the cycling in the velodrome. Team GB won't dominate as in previous years, but its nail biting stuff.

Amazing work from GB again in the pool. Particularly pleased for Anna Hopkin I had the pleasure of chatting to her at Loughborough last year, what a super young women she is, and she’s worked so hard to get where she is.

Shes not that tall which in swimming can be a difference maker, especially in the freestyle events, but she smashed it!

Well done to them all, we’ve excelled in the pool yet again, we should be so proud all of us, most of the hard work has been done in our very own county!

And when is peaty going to get the recognition he deserves? He’s the greatest individual sports person we have…..

Just woke up hoping to watch the mens football. Eurosport listed Live Football but they've got a rerun of yesterday's GB vs Aus women's game.

Surely the live sport takes precedence :dunno:

Bailly gives two goals away, scores one and then gives an extra time penalty away lol

Need one of them tweets now with all the stats listed with little emojis to accompany each bullet point. Remember us being linked back in 2016 before Man U bought him, been very unlucky with injuries but seems we dodged a duffer ... oh yeah, Maxi Alain Gradel scored, which should've been an 88th minute winner

Not surprising given her performance in the 1st round. Doesn't have the speed in the second 50m for some reason.

Even at her best she wouldn't have been guaranteed a medal against this field with 4 women running 10.7x

Get Dina rested for the 200 now as she doesn't look fit.

I know we want the Brits in the final but she had next to no hope of medaling.

The Jamaicans are on a different planet

Dina Asher Smith fails to make the 100m final. Big let down is that.

I was watching the re-runs earlier and she seemed to struggle.

She's just pulled out of the 200m aswell :(

Poor poor interviewing.

They should have cut that short. You could tell she was heartbroken.

Think the media love this "athlete in tears" interviewing techniques

Always reminds me of Hazel Irvine interviewing John Higgins when he won the world's he was clearly getting emotional and she was just banging on like 'AND OBVIOUSLY YOUR DAD'S DEAD, HE'S DEAD ISN'T HE JOHN, HAS IT BEEN HARD'. **** off Hazel you vulture it was a disgrace never been able to stomach her since. Don't think the interviewer did much wrong there, high pressure. Shame for her but hopefully she'll come back stronger at the next Olympics.

Let's be honest, it's sad for her personally but she'd have gotten pumped in the final. The Jamaicans are insanely far ahead of everyone else.

In this form, obviously.

A fully fit Asher Smith gives Thompson and Jackson a run for their money, especially in a huge championship where Asher Smith is not the type of character to fold mentally

Fraser Pryce is in a class of her own.

Yeah I agree, she literally just stood and said absolutely nothing to comfort her. The older boy who used to do the trackside interviews used to be great, he'd comfort them, take over the interview and give them time to compose themselves.

Sounds like she was never going to be fully fit unfortunately.

Makes it even more surprising that she entered both events, give yourself the best chance in your best event which doesn't even start for another few days, obviously not sure that timeframe is enough for it to matter but give yourself a shot
