Apart from the mainstream sports we usually see all year round (Football, Cricket, Tennis, Golf) what are everyone's favourite Olympic Sports? The ones you make an effort to watch when they come round every 4 years (if you don't watch them outside of Olympics anyway).

For me it's probably Swimming or one of the Athletics events.

Swimming probably because GB do really well in it and there's always a huge buzz and energy when watching it.

Swimming, Diving and the Velodrome Cycling.

Worried about the Cycling this time around, both Men and Women have dominated in recent years in the sprints and pursuits but think this must be the first time in 3 or 4 Olympics that we don't have a favourite to win gold. Some of the times that the Netherlands and Danes are putting up in the main events have smashed most of the World Records that GB smashed in London and Rio

Thompson-Herah smashes the 100m women's race.

Didn't know her and Fraser-Pryce don't get on. Took a lot of effort for Frasyer-Pryce just to congratulate Thompson-Herah...

Mad aswell that the girl who was flying at the end and nearly grabbed Silver isn't even a proper 100m specialist, she came from the 400m lol

Fecking hated each other.

Anyone know what time the final round of golf starts and how to watch it?

About 11.30 - probably Eurosport as the BBC are very hit and miss with their coverage .

BBC said they’ll start showing it from 11:30, they’ll probably dip in and out of it though.

Eurosport’s schedule says they are showing it from 5am.

Skateboarding but I never know when it’s on. I’ve been on holiday this week and all they seem to have shown is proper shit like rugby 7s.

I always enjoy the track and field and swimming events. I only see them when the Olympics are on, so I try to catch those.

Also like the cycling, especially the indoor stuff.

Penny wil her 7th olympic medal (3rd of these games) most ever for any canadian i believe.

Does she carry the flag during closing ceremonies or does Maggie Mac Neil who has 3 as well (but has a gold). Tough call but i say maggie! Penny carried it in rio.

Not a bad start to the day .

Another gold and bronze in the BMX and an excellent  relay silver for the Men in the pool creating our most successful Olympics ever in swimming.

i'm just getting caught up with everything - been away on holiday since Tuesday with no tv and limited connectivity so have missed a lot of the action

I did watch this on Iplayer last night - Gold Rush: Our Race to Olympic Glory charting the rise of Team GB from the disaster of Atlanta 1996 through Sydney, Athens, Beijing and London. Some great contributions on the roll of the National Lottery in sport and the bid for London 2012 from John Major, Tony Blair, David Cameron, David Beckham, Chris Hoy, Tom Daley, Kelly Holmes and others. It is 3 x 45 minute episodes but definatley interesting and some great memories if Olympics is your thing

Just woke up to watching this thinking it was live. That was insane what she did. Unreal. That backflip 360 was crazy.
