Whens the Olympics really start?

I mean the runners and stuff?

Track and field usually begins at the start of the second week. So Saturday I think

I know she has this reputation as a warrior, but Steph Houghton has been a liability at international level for a while now.

Sadly still lost in the end.

Yup, was a good game to watch for a neutral. But GB should've won that, threw it away in full time and then missed the penalty to go infront in extra time.

That mixed triathlon relay was superb.

Superb from team GB, but great to see men and women together in an event.

There's maybe room for something like that in athletics and cycling.

They have a mixed relay in athletics this time. The heats were last night. Fairly interesting as they don’t have an order so you get men and women running legs at together. Really unpredictable!

Didn't know that, thanks.

Yeah, tactics would play a part, the Triathlon was women, men, women, men...if they were allowed out of that sequence, would you go with men for the first 2 legs to build a lead? I guess the advantage would be clear water in the swim. But would you put the men at the end to outrun the women?

Interesting stuff.

Certainly makes for more exciting viewing.

In the one last night the majority of teams went man woman woman man because apparently it’s the most successful way of doing it. A few mixed it up though but they all lost!

What distance was it over? Honestly didn't know it was a thing!

A lot of olympic sports could do it and it really would be intriguing and great for viewing I think.

It was 4X400 I’m pretty sure it’s the first time they’ve introduced it. There’s a similar event in the swimming as well which GB will probably win today.
