Landlord in a pub in the middle of the lake district. One that doesn't need to make a lot of money just enough to get by.

You know the type sit at the end of the bar while there is a about 3 or 4 locals in and then the odd dog walker / cyclist.

I'd love to be the front man of a band, or be a solo artist. To just to have a big enough fanbase to be able to make a living from.

I had a little taste of it back when I was about 18 and the band I was in got invited out to Bavaria to do a few gigs. We did this one small festival, and the crowd went mental... We had teenagers buying EPs and coming to find us to get them signed which was crazy enough. Then next day we had a very hungover "bands vs local football team" match, and at some point two girls turned up with a sheet banner they'd made with our band's name, and our personal names scrawled on it, shouting for us.

It was surreal. I don't know at what point the attention gets too much to handle for huge music stars, but for that moment I felt like a rockstar and I fvcking loved it.

Safari driver. Taking people into the national parks of Africa, getting to see elephant, lion, giraffe and rhino every single day, with the chance to see leopard and the one big cat I've never seen in the wild, cheetah. Chobe in Botswana, Etosha in Namibia or Hwange in Zimbabwe. Being in that region would give me the chance to just explore the whole area even more.

If someone could get me a guaranteed job I'd be off tomorrow.

Due to my interest in trains I'm gonna say train driver. Dunno why I never went for this actually but at the time of leaving school I wanted to work in IT which is what I now do.

Airline pilot. Only thing I’ve ever wanted to do really.

Will never, ever happen; especially now all the existing pilots have been made redundant and are driving Amazon vans.

Own a successful street food truck that also sells cans of craft beer. That would be the dream, to have a decent local spot and then to go around the country doing different fairs and festivals etc.

Author, of popular fiction. That’s the dream, anyway. I’ve always enjoyed storytelling, but writing is another matter. Writing is bl**dy hard and only seems to get harder the older I get.

If I didn't do what I do, I'd quite like to be a car detailer. It started as a lockdown hobby but I'm now finding myself doing friends, neighbors, and families cars and I really enjoy it (and I'm told I do a good job as I've got a keen eye for detail!)

I find taking someone's filthy, scratched, faded, shabby car and transforming it in a day through a proper deep cleaning and machine polishing process, strangely satisfying.

Don't think I'd ever do it for the money or a career change, but I'm seriously considering it as my major thing to do when I retire (and playing golf)

A neighbour of mine got made redundant from his IT role last year and has done exactly this.  He seems to be doing well.  You need to pickup a good number of clients who will pay you to spend days on their car, as well as the regular maintenance valet work.  Last time I saw him he was very excited about his new water filter for rinsing cars.

My Landlord is a pilot, I am paying his mortgage relatively near Gatwick while he moved to Dorset to a house I think they inherited to live cheaply.

I share his excitement. Filtered water = no water spots and water spots are a bitch to clean on cars.

Fair play to him and I hope he makes a success of it. I know of some car detailers who make very good money from having a few top end clients who want their Ferraris and Aston Martins cleaning every week!

Own a dog farm so when folks tell their kids that "fluffy is going to live on a farm" it could actually be true.

It's just be massive dog haven/charity.

One of my best friends and his brother-in-law started selling homemade pizza literally out of their garden to neighbors when they were furloughed right at the start of lockdown. It absolutely snowballed and within a few months they'd bought a vehicle and both quit their jobs to focus on it full time.

They've just been nominated for a bunch of business awards and they're looking at franchising etc. Pretty remarkable growth, really. And lucrative if you get it right.

Not for me, TBF. Lots of long days, evenings and weekends. And it can be quite unstable if bookings fall away or the weather is crap.

Aye author would be the dream. Famous but not famous and spend most of the time by yourself.

I see several car detailers advertising on Facebook, and they are often booked up a few weeks in advance.
If you did decide to completely change things and start out working for yourself, I certainly think you would have plenty of work.
