The thing is though is I saw a quote the other day that Pep said in 2009 that he couldn't understand why teams "pay £50m for a striker when you may have those players waiting in the academy" - I think that there is a bit of denial when he sees us that he may not have been able to elevate us to the heights that Rodgers has, taking on a project like ours and that the Pep of today needs to spend that much money to be at the top.

Don't get me wrong we are not on par with Man City overall, but I would say that what our club has done is a lot more impressive given the difference in resources.

He does seem in denial about the whole spending thing. I would love for a reporter to ask him directly about him spending £1 billion on transfers.

The announcement of an opposition sub used to always be greeted with a 'whoooooo?' even if it was a well known player.

Perhaps that's what is was rather than 'boooo'.

I’ve certainly heard both

Likewise still buzzing from Saturday. The booing thing has always got me though. Sounds like we’re kids on a day out at the pantomime and feels a bit village

I just see it as trying to gain an edge by aiming to put off a key player :dunno:

Elite level sportspeople use this to thrive. Think Vardy. Loves it when opposition crowds get at him. Booing is an acknowledgement of fear and most likely counter productive

I wonder if Top has asked for the plans of the stadium extension back.....we're gonna need a bigger trophy room at this rate!

On a serious note though are there any plans in the extension or as part of a stadium re-jig to incorporate a kind of museum like the display at the New Walk museum, also with the donations in memory of Vichai (shirts / messages etc) and a similar display for the F.A.Cup win?

Aside from little Wes's' injury things are feeling really good at the moment, just hope the official line is that there will be no (1st choice) outgoings at this late stage and we can start the long hard season with a bit of momentum and the thought of getting Evans, Justin and Castagne back at some point. Or...... Soyuncu gets crocked vs Wolves and we're on the phone to Wes Morgan by this time next week.Small margins.

I can't understand anyone boo'ing a player who was part of the 2016 title winning side.

I’d rather him get booed than applauded. The only time a returning player should be applauded is on their first visit back; after that it should be boos or nothing.

That's brilliant, especially when you consider the amount of money Pep has spent on wingers and he let Sancho leave at the first opportunity.

Got a feeling that one might come back to bite him in the arse this season.

The booing of Grealish and Mahrez was very loud where I was.

I don't agree with it for Mahrez. Yes, he was petulant in forcing a move and has been disrespectful since, but come on. He was great for us. One season in particular.

I was at Stamford Bridge for the first game Kante played against us, he was booed every time he touched the ball. It stopped after 10 minutes, you don't realise how much possession he has lol

To be fair to Walker, I don't think anyone was really booing Grealish himself (if they were it's a bit weird) but more the fact that that transfer epitomises everything that is wrong with football at the moment.

...no they were booing Grealish!!!

Especially when he tried to buy a foul and went down under minor contact at the edge of our box. The strange thing is, it looks like he has bulked up, still looks to go down too easily, I wonder how Pep will deal with that, or not!!

I always get the feeling Pep really doesn't like us.

I don't think he likes anyone who beats him, begrudgingly accepts it from other big teams and the rare 'fluke' defeat to a small upstart. We've done it a few times and so he definitely doesn't like us........

........gutted :D

Listening to radio Leicester’s post match podcast yesterday and couldn’t believe it when stringer said it’s the first time we’ve won it. At first I thought he’s just made a mistake in his excitement but then he mentioned it again later, was he trying to be clever claiming our 71 win doesn’t count for something, maybe because it was the charity shield, is he just wrong and not clued up on his history or have I completely missed something.

We were just invited to play in it in 1971 rather than earning the right to play in it, maybe that's what he was referring too. Not sure of the context in the podcast though, as I haven't seen it.

Yes, as division two champions due to the other team, arsenal, having to play in the super cup. We still won it though.

I had just typed this below when you replied

On 2nd thoughts, probably exactly what you said, it was called the Charity Shield then. We may have been 'invited' in 1971, but we did win it.

So he’s just wrong or trying to be clever, I’ve just checked and the club lists it in the honours on its website. They need to update it though as there’s a couple of trophies that still need to be added.
